Workday & Adaptive Planning Specialist

As a member of the Cochlear Workday Technology Squad, the Workday & Adaptive Planning Specialist plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing Workday HCM and Workday Adaptive Planning to enable strategic, data-driven Workforce Planning across the organization. This role supports key business functions including:

  • Workday Adaptive Planning: Workforce budgeting and forecasting, including model maintenance, dashboard/report development, access control, and integration support.
  • Workday HCM: Headcount planning, organizational modelling, and workforce analytics.
  • System Integrations: Design, support, and optimization of integrations between Workday and Adaptive Planning, as well as downstream connectivity to Finance and Financial Planning systems for seamless data flow and alignment across planning cycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administering and optimizing the broader Adaptive Planning for Workforce Planning solution, including model management (maintaining planning models, dimension structures, and hierarchy updates), formula optimization (develop and troubleshoot complex calculated accounts, custom formulas, and linked sheets to support dynamic planning scenarios), sheet design and maintenance (configure and manage standard sheets, modelled sheets, and assumption sheets)
  • People & Culture systems operations support including releases, upgrades, and enhancements to Workday HCM and Workday Adaptive Planning
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business pain points, problem statements, and systemic inefficiencies
  • Investigate and resolve intricate business and system issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable, future-proof solutions

Key Requirements

To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to meet and demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities in your application and at interview:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in one of the following fields: HR, Business, or IT.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Workday (HCM and Adaptive Planning) and Workday integrations.
  • Knowledge of XML, XSLTs, ETV and XTT.
  • Knowledge of developer tools such as Workday Studio and Workday integration tools, including EIBs.
  • Must have excellent verbal/ written communication, user interaction, and interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile practice and project delivery.

  • Pay Range in the United States: $126,000 - $140,000 based upon experience, as well as an annual bonus opportunity of 15% of base salary. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
  • Benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance as well as 401(K) matching with immediate vesting, Paid Time Off, tuition reimbursement, maternity and paternity leave, Employee Stock Purchase Plan and pet insurance.
