The Vulnerability Engineer will play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security risks across complex systems and cloud environments. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment and has a passion for strengthening organizational security. You will assess vulnerabilities, collaborate with IT and development teams to remediate risks, and improve processes and tooling to enhance security posture. This role combines technical expertise with problem-solving skills, supporting both preventive measures and incident response activities. You will help shape security strategies, implement best practices, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your work will directly reduce organizational risk and strengthen trust in the company’s technology systems.


Accountabilities:
  • Perform recurring and on-demand vulnerability scans of systems, applications, and cloud environments.
  • Research emerging threats and assess vulnerabilities to determine risk exposure.
  • Communicate findings and recommend security controls to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with IT, development, and operations teams to implement remediation plans and ensure timely resolution within defined SLAs.
  • Maintain and improve vulnerability management processes, documentation, and automation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security solutions and tools.
  • Participate in incident response activities, providing expertise on vulnerability exploitation and mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal security policies.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in vulnerability management, cyber risk, penetration testing, security operations, or threat management.
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, network access control, and/or SIEM platforms.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, cloud computing, networking, and application development.
  • Experience with vulnerability data management, reporting, and automation.
  • Familiarity with IT controls monitoring for regulatory and compliance purposes.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
  • Professional security certifications such as Security+, CEH, CVA, CISSP, CISA, CISM, or GIAC are preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and remote environment.
  • Compliance with U.S. citizenship and residency requirements for federal security clearance.
