POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President (VP) of State Government Affairs will oversee all state advocacy efforts, developing and leading a comprehensive government affairs strategy that strengthens Indivior’s presence and impact with elected officials, regulators, health care industry thought leaders, and key community partners. This executive will identify and anticipate emerging developments, maintain effective communication with senior leadership and adjust the advocacy strategy as needed to advance Indivior’s goals and objectives at the state level. The role will report to the EVP, Corporate Affairs, as it is essential for state government affairs initiatives to be aligned with the broader Corporate Affairs strategy. Further, this role will be responsible for overseeing the prioritized execution of an integrated strategy with the company’s business teams, having aligned priorities with commercial, legal, and compliance to help develop and advocate for the company’s positions on state public policy matters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Lead team of six State Directors of Government Affairs overseeing state and local government affairs to ensure advocacy and policy initiatives are cohesive and aligned in support of Indivior’s broader interests.

· Develop and implement compliant and strategic plans to advocate for policies that support state funding for public health initiatives, with a key focus on addiction policy, and on ensuring patient access to addiction treatment generally, among other goals.

· Ensure effective coordination and communication between the State Government Affairs team and cross-functional partners across Corporate Affairs, and in commercial, legal, and compliance.

· Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership on issues related to state government affairs. Prepare recommendations for advocacy efforts that align with Indivior’s mission and strategic goals and reflect the context of the political environment.

· Assist in enhancing Indivior’s visibility and reputation in state government through partnership with the business and the broader Corporate Affairs team. Support positioning the organization as a thought leader in health care policy.

· Demonstrate strong people management and positive leadership for the broader state government affairs team, managing the operations, staff and resources.

· Recruit, retain and mentor team members, while managing external consultancy advisers and budgets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· BS or BA degree required

· Advanced knowledge of legislative rules and procedures, legislative processes, and politics

· Successful candidates should have at minimum 15 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and government affairs, public affairs, or policy

· Experience managing and developing teams

· Effectively manage multiple projects or roles in a rapidly evolving environment

· Exhibit acute political sensitivity

· Ability to work cross-functionally in an organization and partner with outside groups such as advocates and associations

· Expected travel 30%
