Join McKesson as our Vice President, Payer Strategies, leading our Specialty Pharmacy Solutions payer contracting efforts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to negotiate innovative payer contracts for Biologics, a McKesson specialty pharmacy, and our Medically Integrated Dispensing (MIDs) network. Ensure payer strategies support our specialty pharmacies and clinics in a dynamic healthcare landscape through innovation and creativity. Drive growth and diversification in our Specialty Pharmacy Solutions as a thought leader.

Biologics Payer Contracting

  • Lead development of creative payer strategies for long-term growth of the business.
  • Conduct contracting efforts to deliver equitable between Biologics and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs).
  • Partners with Finance to create contact evaluations and profitability models
  • Provide oversight payer contracts and payment process for Biologics Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) business.

​​Payer Management

  • Manage collaborations, network, and business development efforts with PBM payers and other business partners.
  • Develop long-term relationships with payers building credibility and trust.

Enterprise Level Payer Contract Innovation

  • Develop Medically Integrated Dispensing and Biologics contracting strategies to create new forms of value-based agreements.
  • Provide pharmacy contracting, credentialing and accreditation expertise to guide the business to successfully negotiate contract terms and maximize business flexibility with PBMs.
  • Support customer segmentation, business model strategy, contracting, and execution.
  • Support Specialty practices through PBM payer audits, and performance management verification.
  • Attend industry conferences, manage network of healthcare industry contacts, and publicly represent Biologics and McKesson Medically Integrated Dispensing in the healthcare industry.
  • Work closely with identified senior management personnel in strategy, business planning, budgeting, and operations support.

Minimum Requirement

  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from accredited university.

Critical Skills

  • Experience working for a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or related consulting organization, preferably in network development or contract negotiations.
  • Experience in Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID), specialty pharmacy, or specialty practice environment a plus.
  • Developed relationships with high level, decision-makers in the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) and specialty practice environments with a track record of innovative network development and contracting solutions.
  • Experience with Specialty Pharmacy.
  • Strong executive presence, exceptional leadership skills and superior organization skills.
  • Effective leader with ability to develop, inspire, and coach a team to accomplishment of goals.
  • High energy performer with an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to sell into this industry and who operates as part of the team and whose enthusiasm inspires and motives teams, peers, and customers.
  • Expertise in pharmacy contracting, credentialing, and accreditation with ability to advise specialty practices.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, adapt to change, and work well under pressure in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills and excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$135,400 - $225,600
