Mission: Essence of the Job
As the VP, GM of Events Agency at BoomPop, your mission is to lead and scale a world-class Event Planner organization. This team will grow to 40+ by the end of the year. You will hire, manage, develop, and coach people managers and the team to be world-class at client sourcing, booking & executing events of all sizes, all around the world.
The Event Agencyâsâ mission is to plan, coordinate, and execute a diverse range of events with exceptional customer service, unwavering adaptability to changing client needs, and a strong focus on meeting or exceeding internal sales and event margin goals. They will play a crucial role in creating memorable experiences that showcase our products and services while contributing to the overall growth and success of BoomPop.
Top 3 Priorities:
- Lead, scale, and coach a world-class Events Agency team to 40+ people, implementing structured hiring, onboarding, and training programs that support autonomy, high performance, and exceptional customer service across all event sizes and types.
- Streamline internal operations by defining clear swimlanes across sales, marketing, supply, and product, improving process efficiency and enabling the team to consistently deliver high-quality events while maintaining an NPS of 80+ and achieving margin targets.
- Own and execute the long-term strategy to establish BoomPop as a category-defining leader in group events, driving KPIs, informing the product roadmap, and ensuring best-in-class client experiences for top-tier enterprise accounts.
Within 30 days:
You will have a clear understanding of BoomPopâs business equation, short and long term goals, our success KPIs, and have gotten to know the entire events organization. You will have identified our strengths & opportunities for improvement, kicked off recurring continual training programs, and have taken ownership of P&L responsibility as well as core processes
Within 60 days:
You will have worked with your leadership team to determine how to streamline and optimize your internal operations without compromising on quality or user NPS. Youâll have made a material impact on our onboarding and training programs, and established clear swimlanes with the demand (sales and marketing) and supply (hotels, vendors) part of our businesses. Youâll be plugged into our product iteration and feedback cycles, and our number 1 source of âinputâ for product features.
Within 90 days:
You will have become the companyâs go-to authority on event execution. Youâll have nailed your hiring plan for the next 12 months, the KPIs that matter and your plan to hit those numbers, and your team will be executing on that plan. Youâll have informed our strategy on how we can grow & scale BoomPop to be a household name in the event industry. The team is better off with your leadership & training. :)

- Manage a team of people managers & one of the largest organizations within BoomPop
- Manage department hiring, training, & scaling. We have ambitious growth goals & this role is critical in helping us get there

- Event Management & Customer Obsession
- You are expected to bring industry shortcuts and cheat-codes with you to the job! :) Youâll guide the team, and handle escalations, and work with Customer Success to strategize on client retention, satisfaction, and expansion - especially for high value logos
- Deep knowledge of the events industry (i.e., hotels, meeting venues, etc.)
- Experience in organizing and managing events including corporate meetings, conventions, conferences, and other large-scale special occasions
- Experience in a client-facing role and (bonus points!) enterprise client expansion
- Experience in overseeing large events
- Experience in securing large partnerships with suppliers (hotels) and standardizing processes, legal, and financials
- Process & Product Optimization & Training
- Improve & enforce our event planning process. We want to ensure itâs (near) perfect as we scale
- Coach & train team to be world-class. We want our NPS to maintain 80+
- Become a critical voice and influencer on product roadmap: working with the product and design teams to get the product to also be (near) perfect đ
- Work closely with with the finance team to close the books for events, and carefully track revenue and margin goals
What weâre looking for:
- Bachelorâs degree or higher. Minimum 8-15 years of related experience required, 15-20yrs preferred.
- Experience managing teams. Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
- Event expertise. Strong knowledge of all aspects of event management.

Occasional Travel: Connecting is in our DNA, please note that we anticipate roughly 6-8 nights of travel per year for this role.
Total Compensation Package; Including Benefits and Stock:
- Base: $200,000 - $250,000 a year; Depending on Experience and Qualifications
- Medical, vision, dental, life: $10,000 - $16,000 a year; Depending on Individual or Family Plan
