This is a senior executive leadership role responsible for defining and driving the enterprise-wide strategy for data, analytics, and machine learning platforms. The position oversees the full data ecosystem, from ingestion and storage to governance, compute, and AI/ML enablement, ensuring scalability, reliability, and regulatory compliance. It plays a critical role in shaping architectural direction and modernizing a complex, high-scale data environment within a regulated industry. The role combines deep technical authority with organizational leadership, requiring decisive ownership of platform evolution and infrastructure strategy. It also partners closely with product, engineering, and business leaders to enable data-driven innovation and AI adoption. This is a high-impact position that directly influences enterprise architecture maturity, operational efficiency, and long-term data strategy.


Accountabilities:
  • Own and evolve the enterprise data and ML platform strategy, including architecture across ingestion, storage, transformation, compute, and AI/ML infrastructure.
  • Define and enforce a compute-agnostic, scalable data architecture enabling governed access and minimizing data silos across the organization.
  • Establish enterprise data governance frameworks, including metadata management, lineage, access controls, schema standards, and data quality enforcement.
  • Lead AI/ML infrastructure strategy, including model training environments, MLOps tooling, and scalable deployment and serving frameworks.
  • Drive cost governance and infrastructure efficiency across the data platform, ensuring transparency and alignment with business value.
  • Lead and scale a global data engineering and platform organization, fostering engineering excellence, accountability, and operational rigor.
  • Represent data and AI platform strategy at executive level, influencing enterprise technology direction and investment priorities.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in technology leadership, including at least 5+ years in senior executive roles leading data platform or data engineering organizations.
  • Proven experience building and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms in complex, high-growth, and regulated environments.
  • Deep expertise across modern data stack technologies, including cloud data warehouses, streaming systems, data lakes, and metadata/governance tools.
  • Strong background in enterprise data governance, including data quality, lineage, access control, and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, FedRAMP readiness).
  • Solid understanding of AI/ML infrastructure, including MLOps, model lifecycle management, and compute provisioning for ML workloads.
  • Experience operating in M&A or rapidly evolving environments requiring data integration at scale.
  • Demonstrated executive presence with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders and make high-stakes architectural decisions.
  • Experience managing distributed engineering teams and attracting top-tier technical talent.
