This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a VP, Business Systems Engineering, Company Pillar Systems in the United States.

This role is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact business systems organization that supports critical People, Legal, and Finance functions across the company. As VP, you will drive large-scale platform transformations, champion AI adoption, and shape the organization’s next phase of technical excellence. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize complex business processes and automation initiatives, while fostering a high-performing, inclusive team culture. The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise, enabling you to influence both the technology roadmap and operational execution. This is ideal for a visionary leader who thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the Company Pillar Systems organization, scaling platforms, processes, and AI-powered tools to support People, Legal, and Finance functions.
  • Drive the adoption of generative AI capabilities and champion experimentation across business systems.
  • Oversee and optimize core platforms, including ServiceNow, Workday, Workato, and company-wide AI/ML tools.
  • Ensure operational excellence by establishing guardrails, standards, and best practices for system governance, automation, and data quality.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive team, cultivating a psychologically safe work environment.
  • Partner with internal tech teams and business leadership to translate strategic goals into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide thought leadership in automation, AI integration, and process engineering to enhance efficiency, scalability, and user experience.

Requirements

  • Extensive technical experience, ideally with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary business systems teams through scaling, transformation, and automation initiatives.
  • Hands-on expertise with core platforms such as ServiceNow, Workday, and Workato; experience running Centers of Excellence is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of People, Legal, and Finance business processes, with experience partnering with senior leadership in these domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to operationalize strategy, establish governance frameworks, and deliver complex, high-volume systems reliably.
  • Passion for AI and generative technologies, with experience experimenting with AI/ML tools and articulating business impact.
  • Excellent coaching, mentoring, and team development skills, with experience fostering inclusive, high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable building trusted relationships with C-level and VP-level stakeholders.
