In this role, you will act as a key advisor supporting mid-market clients in the design, management, and optimization of voluntary benefits programs. You will combine strong client relationship management skills with deep benefits expertise to help organizations align offerings with workforce needs and business goals. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to account growth, solution development, and client satisfaction across a diverse portfolio. The position requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution in a fast-paced consulting environment. You will also play a role in analyzing market trends, building tailored proposals, and supporting complex client needs. This is a highly collaborative role where your insights directly shape client outcomes and long-term partnerships.


Accountabilities:

In this role, you will manage and grow a portfolio of mid-market client accounts by delivering high-quality voluntary benefits consulting and ensuring strong client satisfaction and retention. You will develop tailored benefits strategies aligned with client needs, market trends, and internal capabilities, while supporting proposal development and solution design. You will also conduct market and client analyses to identify growth opportunities and strengthen existing relationships.

  • Manage and expand a portfolio of voluntary benefits client accounts across multiple industries
  • Develop and execute voluntary benefits strategies tailored to client goals and workforce needs
  • Analyze market trends, client data, and competitive positioning to identify growth opportunities
  • Prepare and support development of proposals, presentations, and custom solutions
  • Oversee project planning, timelines, and delivery of client solutions in collaboration with internal teams
  • Address escalated client issues and ensure timely, high-quality resolution and service delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to support long-term partnerships

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in benefits consulting, client management, or related fields, with a strong ability to manage relationships and deliver complex projects in a client-facing environment. You should be confident working independently while collaborating across teams, with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. A solid understanding of voluntary benefits and financial acumen is highly valuable.

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in benefits consulting, client management, sales, or benefits administration
  • Strong knowledge of voluntary benefits and client account management practices
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to interpret data and market trends
  • Proven project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to build trusted client relationships and manage expectations effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and ability to work independently and cross-functionally
  • Insurance licenses (Life & Health / Property & Casualty) preferred or obtainable within 6 months
