Who We Are!
Elementl Power Inc. is an advanced nuclear project developer and independent power producer, building scalable pathways for clean resilient energy. We break the stalemate in advanced nuclear deployment by delivering turnkey development, financing, and ownership solutions -- empowering customers to access nuclear power without the burden of operating assets.
The Opportunity:
Elementl Power is building the next generation of nuclear energy projects in the U.S. and we’re looking for a VP, Project Management Office to lead the team that turns those projects into reality.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who has done it before in commercial nuclear: building disciplined governance, mobilizing delivery teams, and driving predictable execution across complex, multi-billion-dollar nuclear power plant development and delivery programs. This is not a general PMO role; candidates must have led delivery of commercial nuclear projects (or nuclear new-build/major nuclear capital programs) in a highly regulated environment. Nuclear is unique in its regulatory, quality, and execution expectations, and we need a leader who is fluent in that environment and has direct experience delivering nuclear projects end-to-end.
As VP, PMO you will lead Elementl’s PMO and oversee Project Directors and cross-functional delivery teams through the full lifecycle: early planning, siting, licensing and permitting, engineering, procurement, EPC execution, commissioning, and turnover. You will set the standards, systems, and phase-gate governance that keep a portfolio moving safely, transparently, and efficiently, while maintaining strict alignment with DOE and NRC regulatory environments.
What You'll Do!
Portfolio Delivery & Execution Excellence
- Lead a portfolio of new nuclear power plant development and delivery projects, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Drive consistent use of project management and controls systems (schedule, cost, risk, change control, reporting).
- Establish the operating cadence that makes progress and risk visible, standard portfolio reviews, disciplined action tracking, clear escalation paths, and decision-ready dashboards for leadership.
- Identify cross-project risks, resource constraints, and interdependencies, and bring clarity and resolution quickly.
- Provide clear, decision-ready reporting to the CDO and executive leadership.
Governance, Controls & Risk
- Define and implement a phase-gate governance model that enables disciplined decision-making and transparency.
- Establish and maintain PMO standards, procedures, and performance frameworks to deliver projects safely, compliantly, and predictably.
- Build robust portfolio risk management practices that surface issues early and drive mitigation.
- Partner with Legal and functional leaders on contracting strategies, procurement alignment, and claims avoidance/mitigation.
- Drive delivery strategy and risk allocation across EPCs, owner’s engineers, and reactor/vendor-supplied major equipment, with disciplined change control and strong claims avoidance practices.
Nuclear Regulatory & Stakeholder Leadership
- Serve as a key liaison with internal leaders and external stakeholders, including regulators, clients, and strategic partners.
- Ensure effective communication, alignment, and transparency across all levels of the organization.
- Represent Elementl in discussions that reinforce confidence in our execution capabilities.
- Reinforce a strong nuclear safety and quality mindset across the portfolio, ensuring procedural rigor and compliance without unnecessary bureaucracy.
Team Building & Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing organization of Project Directors, Project Managers, Project Controls, Contracts, Document Management, and other delivery support functions.
- Align staffing plans and capabilities to portfolio demands.
- Foster a culture of nuclear safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- This role will require frequent travel to project sites and to partner, client, and stakeholder meetings.
Innovation
- Integrate digital tools, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions into project management and reporting.
- Improve predictability, efficiency, and delivery performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion data-driven decision-making across the PMO and delivery teams.
Requirements
What We're Looking For & Who You Are!
We’re explicitly looking for deep new nuclear power plant development and delivery experience. This role is not a generic PMO leadership position.
- You have 15+ years in project management for large-scale capital infrastructure projects, with significant commercial nuclear project experience strongly preferred (or closely related energy experience with directly transferable nuclear delivery scope).
- You’ve demonstrated success leading large, complex nuclear projects within a strong matrixed PMO environment.
- You’ve overseen a portfolio of large infrastructure projects with total portfolio value in the billions of dollars.
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Business (required); an MS/MBA is preferred.
- You bring end-to-end expertise across nuclear project development and delivery that includes siting, licensing, engineering, EPC execution, commissioning, and turnover to operations.
- You are commercially strong, with contracting experience across EPCs, owner’s engineers, reactor vendor–supplied major engineered equipment, and operational support services.
- You have a proven track record implementing governance, oversight, and support management frameworks within a PMO organization that drives predictable and standardized project delivery.
- You’re an executive-ready leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across complex internal and external environments.
- You have a deep understanding of U.S. NRC regulatory regimes; experience with projects receiving DOE financial assistance awards is a plus.
- You’re willing to travel frequently to project sites and stakeholder meetings and at the appropriate time in the project lifecycle, relocate to the project site on a temporary or permanent basis.
- It would be great if:
- You hold credentials such as: P.E., PMP, SRO or similar.
- You've built a PMO organization that established a standardized project delivery framework from the ground up.
- You’ve engaged the marketplace to structure delivery models, allocate risk, and develop mitigation strategies.
If you’re a nuclear project delivery leader who thrives in high-accountability, highly regulated environments, and you’re energized by building the governance, controls, and high-performing teams required to execute complex, multi-billion-dollar nuclear programs, we’d love to hear from you.
Elementl’s work sits where energy reliability, national priorities, and technical excellence meet. In this role, you’ll lead the delivery engine that helps bring new nuclear generation online: safely, predictably, and at scale.
The base salary range for this role is $215,000 - $300,000, and has a bonus opportunity.
