As the Vice President, Project Management, you will be a key member of the Oncology Operations Executive Team responsible for setting vision and strategy for a high functioning project management organization.
Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the global project management organization.
- Accountable for the development of project management tools, processes and training that create and maintain a highly functioning Project Management team.
- Accountable for maintaining appropriate levels of resource within Project Management to support ongoing and future client studies.
- Accountable for overall delivery of the portfolio with support from functional leaders.
- Creation and maintenance of appropriate Project Governance and oversight mechanisms to facilitate project delivery and project profitability.
- Provide input into development of the planning and reporting framework based on and utilizing the core systems, internal KPIs and in line with external customer expectations.
- Financial accountability of portfolio with support from project managers and functional leaders. Must have a deep knowledge of revenue recognition processes and have visibility into project profitability, scope management and cash position as it relates to the portfolio.
- Establish and review KPIs tracked to monitor overall productivity, performance and business risk.
- Creation and maintenance of appropriate Project Management career ladders to support career development within and external to Project Management.
- Work closely with Catalyst Learning and Development team to develop, implement and reinforce training with team members.
- Identify the need and support development of the departmental SOPs.
- Provide input into development of the departmental budget.
- Represent Project Management during QA audits as required.
- Accountable for overall project and team members’ readiness for the QA audits.
- Serve as Executive Oversight for assigned clients.
- Monitor system/process weaknesses and/or customer complaints related to Clinical Operations.
Position Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Required: University/college degree (life sciences preferred) or certification in a related allied health profession from an appropriately accredited institution, such as nursing, medical or laboratory technology.
Experience:
- 15+ years working in clinical research setting with progression of increased responsibility over time.
- At least 10 years of management experience in a CRO setting with in depth knowledge of the clinical services, including but not limited to clinical project management, clinical monitoring and site start-up/maintenance activities.
- Previous exposure to working effectively in matrix models and a working knowledge of service delivery needs in clinical and technical domains.
Required Certifications: PMP certification or similar PM methodology certification preferred or equivalent PM process work experience.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of the drug development process and FDA regulations, ICH GCP guidelines, and their application to clinical trials.
- Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail.

- Ability to lead team meetings and teleconferences and provide accurate and comprehensive minutes.
Supervisory responsibilities include: Position will have management responsibilities. Development, oversight, and direction of departmental staff which may include interviewing, terminations, training, personal growth, retention plans, coaching/performance management, goal setting, & salary.​
