  • Partner with the CTO and other stakeholders to define and implement an engineering strategy aligned with company goals and the product roadmap.
  • Oversee the architecture, design, development, and deployment of software solutions that meet standards for scalability, security, compliance (including HIPAA and HITRUST), and performance, while ensuring inclusive design and usability.

  • Manage engineering budgets and resources effectively to support innovation while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Attract, develop, and retain engineering talent by cultivating a team environment focused on collaboration, technical growth, and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Champion continuous improvement within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), focusing on quality, maintainability, and delivery predictability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Preferred: Experience in the healthcare technology sector, with deep knowledge of compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC 2; familiarity with EMR integrations, care delivery models, and platforms serving both patients and providers; and a demonstrated commitment to addressing health equity in technology-enabled care solutions.
  • Proven experience building and leading multiple high-performing engineering teams (50+ team members), within a growth-stage startup environment. Experience with remotely distributed and international teams is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of software development methodologies, architectural design, and technology best practices, with a commitment to inclusive and equitable product development.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as modern software development tools and practices.
  • Analytical and systems-thinking capabilities, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes aligned with organizational and user impact.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire teams and advocate for technology’s role in improving healthcare access and outcomes.
