This executive role provides strategic and operational leadership across a global clinical oncology project management organization. You will oversee complex portfolios of oncology trials, ensuring consistent delivery excellence, financial performance, and high client satisfaction. Acting as a key driver of therapeutic innovation, you will connect long-term business strategy with flawless execution across regions. The role operates in a highly collaborative, global environment, working closely with senior stakeholders, sales, and delivery teams. With responsibility for portfolio growth and P&L ownership, your impact will be both clinical and commercial. This is an opportunity to shape the future of oncology project delivery at scale.


Accountabilities:
  • Define and execute the strategic delivery plan for the oncology portfolio, aligning clinical execution with broader corporate objectives.
  • Lead portfolio governance and oversee the successful delivery of all oncology clinical trials, ensuring timelines, quality, and regulatory compliance are consistently met.
  • Own full P&L responsibility for the oncology portfolio, driving revenue growth, margin performance, and budget adherence.
  • Provide senior leadership for escalated delivery issues, implementing proactive risk management and mitigation strategies across programs.
  • Harmonize project management processes, tools, and governance models to ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global organization of delivery directors, project managers, and coordinators.
  • Establish scalable staffing models, succession plans, and talent development strategies to support long-term growth.
  • Act as executive sponsor for key clients, strengthening strategic partnerships and leading governance meetings and bid defenses.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and business development teams to expand the oncology portfolio and shape proposals, pricing, and operational strategies.
  • Identify emerging therapeutic and industry trends to influence service offerings and future growth opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in life sciences, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in clinical research, including 10 or more years in project management and at least 5 years leading global teams.
  • Deep expertise in oncology clinical development, clinical trial operations, and international regulatory requirements including ICH and GCP.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex portfolios with full P&L accountability and demonstrated revenue growth.
  • Strong strategic leadership skills with a track record of operational excellence, client engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, resource management systems, and commercial practices including contracts, proposals, and pricing.
  • Demonstrated success leading bid defenses and executive-level client interactions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global environment, with flexibility for international collaboration and travel.
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, business, or a related field, along with experience in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, is preferred.
