This position will be supporting Experian Consumer Services (ECS) - a passionate and innovative team with a mission to provide Financial Power to Allâ„¢ by redefining the consumer experience related to credit access, financial well-being and safety.
As Vice President of Business Data Strategy, you will sit at the forefront of data, media and consumer trends and work as part of and in collaboration with the leadership team to define, implement and scale an overarching business data strategy in service of driving consumer value and increasing engagement and monetization. By aligning user-centric data innovation with scalable monetization strategies, the Vice President of Business Data Strategy will help drive transformation and achieve our mission of providing Financial Power to All. This role will report to our Chief Business Officer and lead a specialized team of data experts responsible for shaping the vision and execution of our data strategy, pioneering innovations that enhance user experiences, delivering measurable outcomes for partners, and fueling business growth.
What you'll be doing:
Business Data Strategy:
- Define and execute our long-term data strategy to optimize data collection, management, and utilization. in service of driving greater consumer engagement and scaling new data monetization opportunities
- Develop a near term and future vision of how data will impact the industry and our view of the role of data as an asset
- Understand and articulate a strategy at the intersection of data and media, specifically tied to how companies with "digital storefronts" are transforming to media companies in order to drive engagement and maximize revenue growth / margins
- Champion the implementation of tools and platforms to advance data architecture and harmonize data pipelines and platform infrastructure across consumer website / apps, retail media, and lead-generation systems in collaboration with engineer team
- Partner with CRM, Content and Product to explore novel ways to use first-party data to build competitive advantage while ensuring ethical use and compliance standards
- Lead data-driven solutions initiatives: from ideation to solutions design and monetization / GTM in partnership with Product, Marketing and Marketplace
Data Partnerships + Innovation:
- Oversee data partnerships budget and acquisition strategy
- Evaluate data signal needs and develop / execute partnership roadmap for 3rd party data assets (e.g. ConsumerView) and priority integrations
- Develop build, buy, and partner strategy for the data acquisition
- Build partnerships with external data providers, research institutions, and technology firms to expand our data capabilities
- Partner with external media and technology partners and thought leaders to pilot advanced data-driven media solutions and expand our data capabilities
- Lead cross-BU partnership engagements specific to data opportunities
- Work with Marketing / Media team to test / co-create data-projects with key media players
- Define and lead the data innovation roadmap in partnership with product and technology, integrating new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and predictive analytics to stay ahead of industry trends
- Build frameworks for data-driven experimentation and monetization, encouraging a culture of innovation across the organization and accelerating time to market for new opportunities
Monetization & Business Growth:
- Lead efforts to expand our data monetization capabilities, including predictive analytics, audience segmentation, and insights-driven product enhancements.
- Work with Marketplace and Marketing on GTM approach with important B2B partners as we introduce new data-driven solutions to market
- Collaborate with the product, marketing, and sales teams to drive data collection and revenue growth through data-informed media strategies that engage users and optimize conversion rates
- Develop Data Ethics Standards in partnership with legal and compliance specific to the types of data we will monetize, the partners we will monetize with, and the use cases we will support.
- Support corporate strategy / development teams re: M&A, investment, and partnership opportunities
Consumer Insights and Actionable Analytics:
- Develop data capabilities / solutions for use in media (e.g. audience development and model creation specifically tied to campaign objectives)
- Work with product, marketing, and marketplace and analytics teams to develop dashboards for B2B customers that provide consumer, category and merchant level insights
- Work with marketing to build frameworks for continuous testing and optimization of campaigns and media content, improving ROI for advertisers and value for users.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Product and Technology teams to ensure data strategies and considerations are deeply embedded into product roadmaps, from ideation to execution.
- Product Team: Collaborate on defining user-centric features and applications that use data insights for personalization and engagement. This includes working with product on UX design that is designed to maximize data collection.
- Technology Team: Collaborate on developing scalable and secure data systems that support real-time analytics, seamless integration, and future growth.
- Be the bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and shared objectives.
- Be the main lead for data specific cross-BU initiatives
- Establish clear ownership and shared accountability across teams, ensuring data pipelines and products are developed cohesively to meet business objectives
Leadership and Organizational Impact:
- Cultivate an ecosystem where data is a shared asset, unlocking synergies across product, marketing, technology, and partner relationships.
- Define organizational model and team needed to execute on data strategies for business
- Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of data strategists, solutions / data architects, data partnerships and data scientists and a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Serve as a member of ECS leadership team, offering data-driven perspectives on strategic decisions and investments
- Act as a champion for data-driven innovation across the organization, inspiring teams to think big and execute with precision
- Develop internal and external thought leadership, and data-specific education plans to upskill the organizations understanding of data strategy
