This role plays a key supporting function within a high-performing underwriting organization, ensuring the smooth execution of policy lifecycle activities across new business and renewals. You will work closely with underwriters to prepare accurate documentation, analyze account information, and coordinate essential data that supports pricing and risk evaluation. Acting as a vital link between underwriting teams, agents, and internal departments, you will help ensure timely and compliant policy servicing. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You will also contribute to improving workflow efficiency by taking ownership of routine underwriting processes and communication tasks. This is a collaborative role where precision, responsiveness, and strong communication directly enhance underwriting effectiveness.
Accountabilities:- Partner with underwriters to gather, validate, and organize account information for new business and renewal policies
- Prepare underwriting documentation, pricing exhibits, and supporting analyses such as exposure breakdowns, experience rating, and profitability assessments
- Support pre-renewal and renewal meetings by assembling relevant materials and ensuring readiness of account data
- Manage policy documentation including proposals, endorsements, cancellations, agreements, and related contract materials
- Communicate with brokers, agents, wholesalers, and internal stakeholders to resolve inquiries and support underwriting decisions
- Ensure accurate and timely policy issuance, servicing, and billing coordination
- Assist in preparing quotes by reviewing exposures, updating account data, and applying rating adjustments as directed
- Support compliance requirements, including regulatory filings, certificates of insurance, and proof of coverage documentation
- Maintain accurate records of account activity and underwriting documentation within internal systems
- Participate in special projects and workflow improvement initiatives as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1–3+ years of experience in insurance, underwriting support, or policy administration (Property & Casualty experience preferred)
- Familiarity with insurance processes including rating, quoting, and policy issuance
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to interpret underwriting data and apply basic insurance concepts such as class codes and bureau guidelines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence in client and broker interactions
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality of work
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-changing, deadline-driven setting
- Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn and grow in underwriting operations
- Preferred: experience with Professional Liability (E&O) or similar lines of business
