This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a UL - Sr. Test & Compliance Engineer in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead testing and compliance efforts for complex hardware and software products across multiple industries. The Senior Test & Compliance Engineer will design and execute test plans, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage technical risk throughout the product lifecycle. The position involves collaboration with global engineering teams, external test laboratories, and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain quality and safety standards. You will mentor junior engineers, guide certification processes, and stay current with industry regulations and emerging testing methodologies. Success in this role requires deep expertise in UL, CE, and MIL-STD standards, as well as strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills. This is a hands-on position that directly impacts product quality, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

Accountabilities

·         Design, implement, and execute detailed test plans, including functional, performance, and V&V protocols.

·         Develop test cases for complex systems and conduct both manual and automated testing of hardware and software products.

·         Ensure products meet industry standards, regulatory compliance, and internal policies across UL, CE, ISO, RoHS, WEEE, FCC, and MIL-STD requirements.

·         Manage product technical risk, prepare FMEA and hazard analyses, and implement mitigation strategies.

·         Collaborate with engineering, product management, and operations teams to maintain compliance and quality throughout the product lifecycle.

·         Oversee and maintain relationships with external test laboratories, ensuring alignment with internal processes and standards.

·         Mentor and provide guidance to junior test engineers on best practices, testing methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

·         Maintain traceability, documentation, and detailed reporting of test results, compliance findings, and quality issues.

·         Identify process improvements to enhance testing efficiency, effectiveness, and product quality.

Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

·         8+ years of experience in test engineering, quality assurance, or compliance roles.

·         Expertise in regulatory standards and certification processes, including UL, CE, ISO, and MIL-STD; experience with batteries or power systems testing is a plus.

·         Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing tools and frameworks.

·         Strong knowledge of software and hardware testing methodologies.

·         Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).

·         Familiarity with risk management practices, including FMEA and hazard analysis.

·         Excellent documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

·         Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Six Sigma) are a plus.

·         Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
