Overview
The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Indian Affairs (IA) seeks Policy Review Support Services for their Division of Environmental Services and Cultural Resources Management (DESCRM) office. Personnel support will review and update various national policies and procedures regarding environmental compliance and Tribal trust asset management. With the evolving nature of regulations and the importance of Tribal trust asset management, it is imperative that the IA continuously evaluate and update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current standards and practices.
The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and have a broad understanding of Tribal trust asset management regulations as well as the methodologies associated with policy development, stakeholder coordination and implementation.
Place of Performance and Hours of Operation
Work to be performed in a remote setting (i.e., professional home office/remote work location), with normal duty hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EDT, Monday - Friday, except Federal holidays. Travel may be required.
Scope of Work
The work will involve reviewing and updating various policies and procedures utilized by Indian Affairs. This includes, but may not be limited to policies identified in Indian Affairs Manual Part 59 and the Indian Affairs National Environmental Policy Act Guidebook. Specific tasks will include:

Qualifications
The Technical Writer must have a minimum education of a bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years related experience to the scope of work, to include the following:
Security
Employment is contingent upon the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and a federal security investigation (background check) in order to obtain a U.S. Department of the Interior Public Trust security clearance prior to start. The background investigation reviews employment, criminal, financial, and personal history. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen to work in support of a federal agency.
Any notification from Government to Montech notifying that the employee has compromised the security requirements will warrant immediate termination from employment on the contract.
