Description

Come join a unique and exciting design and technology agency that creates digital experiences for bold brands. If you like making a difference for clients and want to have an immediate impact on a budding and collaborative company that understands, respects and champions work-life balance, then this is the role for you.

The Experience Design Studio is a digitally native company with remote staff and hubs outside of Philadelphia and Atlanta. We strive to create a fun, meaningful, hard-working, and rewarding environment that allows our team to deliver impactful results for our clients, with digital in our DNA.

We’re seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join our team as a contractor supporting our client on a high-complexity, high-visibility engagement with a leading biotech company that is pushing boundaries in data-driven omnichannel marketing.

This is not a marketing coordinator or traditional web PM role. This is deeply technical, cross-functional program management in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment. You’ll work alongside strategists, developers, analysts, and client teams to shepherd enterprise-grade CRM and analytics solutions—from planning through launch.

Requirements

  • Act as the central hub between client stakeholders, technical vendors, and internal cross-functional teams
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of development-heavy initiatives (e.g., Salesforce integrations, predictive dashboards, data-driven campaign systems)
  • Own weekly planning, resourcing, and communication cycles: status updates, timelines, risks, and scope
  • Organize and facilitate working sessions, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and multi-agency alignment meetings
  • Translate ambiguous requirements into executable plans
  • Track and manage detailed budgets against scope ($1M+ quarterly SOWs)
  • Proactively flag out-of-scope asks, manage change requests, and protect project viability
  • Drive accountability across external dev teams and internal SMEs
  • Serve as an advocate for structure in an emerging environment (no formal PMO in place)

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of project/program management experience in digital, tech-forward environments
  • Strong experience managing CRM/data-driven development projects (Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar)
  • Highly organized and assertive—can manage up, across, and down with grace under pressure
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies
  • Excellent communicator who can distill technical complexity into clear, business-impacting language
  • Relentless and professional follow-ups to manage on-time delivery
  • Understanding of data security
  • Proven ability to work effectively with difficult stakeholders and in high-meeting-load environments (20+ hrs./week)
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or pharma is strongly preferred
  • US-based; able to work core East Coast hours (9–5 ET)

Bonus Points

  • Experience managing multi-vendor teams
  • Understanding of data privacy and compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Experience in multi-channel activation strategy or MarTech orchestration
  • Familiarity with AI-driven segmentation and campaign automation

Team

You’ll be embedded in a trusted core team within Ionis’ omnichannel operations, including:

  • Internal Team Leads
  • The Head of Integrated Intelligence (primary stakeholder + SME)
  • Client-side cross-functional teams across marketing, data science, analytics, and IT
  • An existing non-technical PM who owns coordination and documentation

This is a challenging, high-stakes environment, but one where you can make a massive impact. You’ll be part of a team that’s seen as a true extension of the client, with a client email addresses, SharePoint access, and an important seat at the table.

Benefits

The Experience Design Studio is an EOE/V/D employer.
