The Role


Job Title: Technical Artist

Length: 3 months

Estimated Start: February 10th

Brainrider is seeking a Technical Artist to join our client embedded team. The Technical Artist will be responsible for the technical aspects of creative asset development. You'll work closely with our clients Design and Engineering teams to support and develop the production pipeline, develop shaders, and translate designs into code. Your focus in this role will be building creative tools with a significant amount of production – shared writing and design development integration for things including filters, text effects, video transitions, and other types of creative elements.


What you'll do

  • Partner closely with the engineering and design teams to produce creative assets by developing shaders and translating designs into code
  • Design and manage the technical production pipelines, including developing tools and functional prototypes
  • Quickly solve issues with cross-functional leads
  • Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environment

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years of experience as a creative coder / technical artist with authoring shaders in GLSL or Meta
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience required
  • Provide portfolio (previous work, projects, etc).
  • Experience in creative coding frameworks (openFrameworks, Processing, Cinder, or Three.j)
  • Experience programming with JavaScript, Java, C++ or C#
  • Solid understanding of computer graphics fundamentals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Collaboration skills (cross functional with visual designers, software engineers, artists, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills

Bonus

  • CS or Media Arts or Digital Media background
  • Creativity – experience working on creative tools or shaders for mobile products
  • Product design background
  • Mobile-specific experience
  • Graphics engineering or skills/experience in computer graphic fundamentals
