Description
The Technical Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing complex accounting activities, including overseeing sales tax processes, supporting merger and acquisition integration, managing the annual audit, researching and interpreting accounting standards, function as a technical accounting resource, and driving the implementation of accounting policies. The role will also be responsible for intercompany reconciliations, managing the opening and closing of Oracle modules, and leading various ad hoc projects. This position does not have direct reports but will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and lead various projects. This position will report directly to the Assistant Controller.
Responsibilities
- Research and interpret accounting policy with respect to unique business transactions.
- Manage accounting-related activities for merger and acquisition integrations, ensuring proper alignment with corporate policies and accounting standards.
- Manage the annual audit. Ensure PBC items are actioned timely and attend regular meetings. Draft footnote disclosures.
- Develop, implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Responsible for intercompany accounting. Complete monthly reconciliations to ensure proper intercompany accounting and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with tax filings and determinations in conjunction with outside consultants.
- Develop an understanding of project accounting and open/close the Projects modules in Oracle along with other modules.
- Ad-hoc projects as they arise.

The skills, abilities, and knowledge base necessary to effectively perform the obligations of a Technical Accounting Manager will include but are not limited to the following:
- An Undergraduate degree from an accredited college in courses like finance or accounting
- CPA required
- A minimum of eight years related accounting experience required; prior managerial experience preferred
- Public company experience preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Excellent technical accounting aptitude in addition to skills in constructively unifying accounting principles with real life organizational goals
- Proficiency with Oracle Fusion strongly preferred
- Commendable written and oral presentation and interaction skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Must be a confident self-starter
