Our services, combined with AngelList’s software, enable us to launch and scale a fund efficiently, allowing fund managers to focus on what they do best: investing.</p><p>Since 2019, Belltower has supported 20k+ funds representing over $17B in assets under administration, leveraging AngelList’s fund admin software to power the service layer for funds launched on the AngelList platform.&nbsp;</p></div></div><h3>About the Role:</h3><p>The Tax Senior Associate is a key member of the team responsible for executing federal and state income tax compliance for 22,000+ funds launched on the AngelList platform. This involves checking work that has been automated, preparing/reviewing work that is still currently prepared manually, identifying and resolving exceptions, and addressing investor questions.&nbsp; Additionally, helping Belltower scale through product and process design from a tax perspective. This requires an understanding of where our data currently is and how it is populated, understanding the relevant tax laws, and then defining how the tax rules should be applied to our data to arrive at outputs for tax reporting.</p><p>The Tax Senior Associate will report to the Tax Senior Manager. The Tax Senior Associate will work with other tax team members, members of the engineering team, and other cross-functional operations teams. They will analyze transactions where there could be tax reporting implications, respond to investor inquiries, drive automated preparation of US income tax compliance forms, participate in product testing for new products supporting tax and other functional teams, and identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and service offerings of the tax department.</p><h3><strong>You Will:</strong></h3><ul><li>Analyze fund activity and determine taxable income across complex venture and fund structures</li><li>Prepare and review partnership and corporate returns (including Schedules K-1) for U.S. federal and state filings</li><li>Communicate with limited partners and portfolio companies to resolve tax questions and ensure reporting accuracy</li><li>Identify and drive process and automation improvements to enhance turnaround time, accuracy, and scale</li><li>Partner cross-functionally with engineering and operations to design, test, and implement data-driven tax workflows</li><li>Participate in product testing and feedback loops for new systems and tools supporting the tax team</li><li>Serve as a trusted tax service provider for funds, offering clear, professional communication and reliable execution</li></ul><h3><strong>You Have:</strong></h3><ul><li>2–4 years of tax experience in the asset management sector, ideally with focused exposure to Venture Capital or Private Equity funds</li><li>Proven ability to prepare and/or review partnership returns and Schedules K-1, with experience interpreting partnership agreements</li><li>Strong communication skills and the ability to manage high-volume investor and portfolio company inquiries with professionalism</li><li>Familiarity with multi-state and foreign filing obligations, including foreign investor reporting</li><li>Interest or experience in automation, process improvement, or data-driven operations</li><li>CPA or EA designation (or active eligibility) preferred</li></ul><p>If you don’t tick every box above, we’d still encourage you to apply. The base salary for this role is $90,000 - $140,000 annually, but actual will vary based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s professional background, experience + expertise, and location.
