About the role
As a Tax Preparer, you will prepare complex federal and state returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, estates, and nonprofits. You’ll work with multi-entity structures, multi-state filings, and large partnerships, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless client experience.
What you'll do
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, small to mid-sized businesses, trusts, estates, and nonprofits.
- Handle challenging returns including multi-entity structures, multi-state filings, and large partnership returns.
- Calculate estimated tax vouchers.
- Perform initial data checks and flag potential issues for senior review.
- Review and organize client documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Familiarity with professional tax software (CCH Axcess and/or Drake preferred)
- Strong Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks Online
- CPA license or EA certification a plus but not required
