Tax Compliance Manager (Remote - US)

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and manage tax compliance for a dynamic portfolio of self-employed clients and small businesses. You will act as a trusted tax advisor while overseeing a team of emerging tax professionals, ensuring high-quality tax preparation, review, and filing. The position combines hands-on tax work with team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and mentorship. Ideal candidates have deep experience with S corporations, a solid understanding of self-employment challenges, and a passion for delivering actionable tax guidance that drives both client satisfaction and business impact. Accountabilities

• Serve as a trusted tax advisor and manage a portfolio of self-employed and small business clients.
• Prepare, review, and sign off on personal and business tax returns, including Forms 1120, 1120S, and 1040.
• Build, lead, and mentor a team of junior tax professionals, supporting their growth, success, and accountability.
• Provide high-impact guidance on financial optimization, entity formation, quarterly checks, and tax estimates.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to communicate tax updates, changes, and best practices.
• Support continuous improvement of tax processes, tools, and client experience.

Requirements

• CPA or Enrolled Agent with 5+ years of hands-on experience working with S corporations.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant tax experience managing small business and self-employed clients.
• Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing, and signing off on tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1040).
• Experience serving 10+ self-employed or small business clients (under $1M in revenue).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with clients and mentor junior team members.
• Tech-savvy with proficiency in UltraTax, GoSystems (or similar tax software), QuickBooks Online, Gusto, Salesforce, and G Suite.
• Ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and foster a collaborative team environment.
