This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Systems Design Consultant based in United States.

This customer-facing role offers the opportunity to help homeowners and contractors make confident decisions about complex heating and cooling solutions.
You will combine technical learning, problem-solving, and communication skills to design systems tailored to each customer’s unique needs.
The position focuses on understanding customer goals, evaluating options, and explaining technical trade-offs in a clear and approachable way.
You will use digital design tools and product knowledge to create recommendations that balance comfort, efficiency, cost, and long-term value.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys learning new technologies, guiding conversations, and solving real-world problems.
You will join a collaborative environment where curiosity, ownership, and customer-focused thinking are highly valued.

Accountabilities:

As a Systems Design Consultant, you will guide customers through the process of selecting the right HVAC solutions by combining technical understanding, thoughtful questioning, and personalized recommendations. You will help transform complex product decisions into clear, confident choices while contributing to a better customer experience.

  • Conduct customer consultations through phone and video conversations to understand project requirements, home layouts, comfort goals, and priorities.
  • Use internal design software and tools to create system recommendations that align with customer needs.
  • Explain the advantages and trade-offs of different system configurations, including comfort, efficiency, cost, aesthetics, installation complexity, and long-term value.
  • Recommend solutions based on customer priorities rather than simply presenting available options.
  • Prepare accurate design summaries and documentation to support successful order completion.
  • Educate customers on technical concepts by translating complex HVAC information into simple, understandable language.
  • Build trust with customers by listening carefully, asking insightful questions, and providing thoughtful guidance.
  • Continuously improve product knowledge, design skills, and customer consultation techniques through training and self-directed learning.
  • Leverage technology, software, and AI tools to improve efficiency, learning, and customer support.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a curious, customer-oriented problem solver who enjoys learning technical products and helping people make informed decisions. HVAC experience is beneficial but not required; strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to understand and explain complex concepts are essential.

  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and explain technical concepts in an approachable way.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a desire to understand needs and recommend the right solution.
  • Ability to ask thoughtful questions, identify priorities, and guide decision-making conversations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate options and explain trade-offs.
  • Comfortable learning new software, digital tools, and technical product information.
  • Ability to manage customer conversations confidently while maintaining a helpful and consultative approach.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of responsibilities.
  • Calm and patient when working with customers who may feel uncertain or overwhelmed.
  • Interest in technology, AI tools, and continuous learning.
  • HVAC, engineering, construction, sales, consulting, or other technical customer-facing experience is a plus but not required.

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $75,000 to $95,000 depending on experience and fit.
  • Performance bonus based on customer outcomes, design quality, and team success.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and health savings account options.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Life insurance and short-term disability coverage.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Remote work flexibility or hybrid work option for candidates based in Chicago.
  • Company-provided computer equipment and training resources.
  • Opportunity to help customers make meaningful decisions while working with modern tools and technology.
