We are looking for a seasoned Systems Administrator to play a pivotal role in maintaining and securing internal IT systems at scale. In this role, you'll oversee a wide range of responsibilities from cloud platform management and endpoint security to automation and audit support. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working across cloud environments, thrives in fast-moving remote teams, and brings a security-first mindset to all aspects of infrastructure. If you are passionate about system reliability, compliance, and mentoring others, this is a role where you can make a meaningful impact.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including SaaS apps, cloud services (AWS/GCP), and endpoint devices.
  • Administer identity and access management systems, MDM tools, MFA, EDR, and DLP solutions to ensure robust security practices.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and resolution of service interruptions using ticketing systems.
  • Support audit readiness and compliance efforts across standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies and controls while supporting risk assessments and continuity planning.
  • Monitor security events, configure SIEM tools, and coordinate with the security team for incident handling.
  • Manage asset inventories, software licensing, provisioning/deprovisioning, and user lifecycle processes.
  • Drive automation, implement process improvements, and oversee system upgrades or infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with vendors and managed service providers to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.
  • Serve as a mentor for junior staff and communicate system statuses and project updates to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or security roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of macOS, Windows, and Google Workspace ecosystems.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP, as well as with MDM tools (e.g., Jamf, Workspace One).
  • Proficiency with identity platforms such as Okta and experience managing IAM, PAM, MFA, and endpoint protection systems.
  • Familiarity with compliance and security standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash) is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.

Benefits

  • Total target earnings range: $130,000 – $150,000 USD
  • Competitive salary with employee equity plan
  • Complete medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible PTO, paid holidays, paid parental leave, and year-end paid holiday break
  • Work-from-home stipend, fertility and adoption reimbursement, and professional development resources
  • Fully remote team with a collaborative, mission-driven culture
  • Opportunities to grow in an innovative, education-focused tech company
