<p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Title </strong>Summer Residency Teaching Assistant</p><p><strong>Department&nbsp;</strong>SEO Tech Developer</p><p><strong>Reports To:</strong> Program Manager - Tech Developer</p><p><strong>Compensation</strong>: $50/hr</p><p><strong>Location/Hours:</strong></p><p>This is a part-time, remote position. It is expected that position duties will be performed remotely. Access to our office location and event attendance is optional.&nbsp; The time commitment is 25-29 hours per week.</p><p><strong>Position Overview and Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p><p>We are looking for Software Engineering Teaching Assistants (TAs) to facilitate the smooth delivery of our rigorous summer residency program for rising juniors studying computer science. TAs, known as Engineering Managers (EMs) by the cohort, meet with a subgroup of students throughout the summer to lead workshops and demos, provide office hours, check-in on student progress, and provide mentorship as students work on projects and prepare to apply for SWE internships. TAs function both as instructors and as advisors, overseeing student projects that culminate in end-of-residency presentations.&nbsp;</p><p>TAs work within either the<strong> Core or Lite student track</strong>. Core programming runs synchronously and follows a pre-determined weekly schedule with 9-5 adjacent hours. Lite programming runs asynchronously, with TAs providing office hours and mentorship generally <em>around and outside</em> of 9-5 hours. The Lite track is designed for more independent students with other commitments over the summer who are looking for a part-time experience.</p><p><strong>Qualifications&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related discipline&nbsp;</li><li>Strong Python skills</li><li>Proficiency with version control, command line, web technologies (HTML/CSS, JavaScript), debugging large projects</li><li>Understanding of social implications of technology</li><li>Working knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms for technical interviews</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Qualifications&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>At least 2+&nbsp; years of full-time software engineering experience (including internships)</li><li>Experience with project management tools (e.g. Jira, Trello) and frameworks</li><li>Familiarity with Flask and similar web-frameworks&nbsp;</li><li>Mentorship or management of junior developers&nbsp;</li><li>Experience working on a computer science instructional team, including a university course, bootcamp, etc.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience using an LMS, e.g. Codio&nbsp;</li><li>Understanding of the tech industry hiring process and common barriers to entry</li><li>Prior experience utilizing generative AI tools in a technical setting</li></ul><p><strong>TIME COMMITMENT</strong></p><ul><li>Program runs from June 8th-July 31st, 2026 . On average, Summer Residency TA’s work <strong>~25 to 29 hours </strong>per week, with orientation training the week of June 8th and residency kicking off on June 15th.</li><li>Mandatory student lectures from 11-12:30PM ET daily, student project final presentations July 22nd - 24th 2026</li><li>An optional opportunity but highly recommended <strong>in-person conference </strong>in NYC between July 27-30 (accommodations and travel stipend may be provided)</li></ul><p><strong>COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS   </strong>&nbsp;</p><p><em>This position is benefits ineligible in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.</em>&nbsp;</p><p>The compensation listed in this posting reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.
