This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Stream Restoration Engineer/Designer in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to lead complex stream restoration and ecological design projects with significant technical and environmental impact. You will provide expert guidance across all stages of project execution, from design and regulatory compliance to contract negotiation and client engagement. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring of junior engineers, and interaction with senior-level clients. Ideal candidates are skilled in environmental engineering, stream restoration techniques, and project management. You will work in a dynamic environment that values continuous improvement, technical innovation, and hands-on problem-solving. Regional travel may be required to support projects and site assessments.
· Lead complex stream restoration and ecological design projects, ensuring technical integrity and compliance with environmental regulations.
· Provide final technical review, advisement, and approval of project documents, designs, and remedial applications.
· Participate in regulatory and contract negotiations, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local standards.
· Serve as a technical mentor and resource for junior engineering staff, providing guidance and training.
· Identify continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices across projects.
· Develop client relationships through participation in proposals, presentations, and client meetings.
· May act as a technical expert witness in regulatory or compliance matters.
Requirements
· B.S. degree in an engineering discipline with 5–10+ years of project-related environmental experience, or M.S. degree with 5+ years relevant experience.
· Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of stream restoration design experience, including Rosgen Level I-IV training.
· Strong expertise in project management, environmental design, data analysis, and remediation programs.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, technical writing, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
· Demonstrated leadership ability and capacity to interact with senior-level clients.
· Knowledge of regulatory requirements, environmental compliance, and ecological restoration design practices.
· Experience in mentoring and developing engineering staff.
