This role provides a unique opportunity to lead complex stream and ecological restoration projects, combining technical expertise with environmental stewardship. You will oversee project design, implementation, and regulatory compliance, providing guidance on site characterization, remediation strategies, and stream restoration planning. The position involves working closely with clients, internal teams, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects meet environmental standards and achieve measurable ecological outcomes. Ideal candidates are highly skilled engineers with experience in project management, design, and mentoring, capable of balancing multiple priorities in fast-paced and technically challenging environments. Accountabilities:
  • Lead and provide final technical advisement and review for complex environmental and stream restoration projects.
  • Oversee design plans, contract negotiations, and regulatory interactions to ensure technical integrity and compliance.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor to engineering staff, providing guidance on project execution and regulatory matters.
  • Develop and implement innovative ecological restoration strategies, including stream restoration design and remediation plans.
  • Participate in client meetings, proposals, and presentations to identify new opportunities and strengthen relationships.
  • Uphold environmental, health, safety, and quality standards in all project activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, championing best practices across project teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (B.S.) with 5–10+ years of environmental engineering or project-related experience; M.S. with 5+ years preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Rosgen Level I–IV training and at least 5 years of stream restoration design experience.
  • Strong expertise in project management, technical writing, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Experience with site characterization, remediation programs, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff and interact with senior clients.
  • Proficiency in computer-based data analysis and design for environmental and ecological projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and integrate project requirements effectively.
