About Standard Bots

Standard Bots is building the next generation of industrial robots -- hardware that's powerful, affordable, and designed to scale. We're moving fast from prototype to high-volume production, and we need the operational infrastructure to match. This role is central to that.

Note: This role is hybrid, with 3 days/week at our NYC office and frequent visits to our Glen Cove, NY robotics factory.

The Role

We're looking for a Strategy & Operations Manager to help build the systems, rhythms, and analytical foundation that let Standard Bots scale with intention. You'll work across every function in the company -- pulling together data, driving clarity on priorities, and owning high-impact projects that don't fit neatly into any single team.

This is a generalist role in the best sense of the word. One week you might be building a margin model with Finance; the next you're coordinating a factory expansion or redesigning how we run our OKR process. What ties it together is a bias toward structure, a comfort with ambiguity, and a genuine interest in how fast-growing hardware companies operate.

You'll report directly to the VP of Operations and work closely with the executive team on a regular basis.

What You'll Do

Metrics, Reporting & Business Reviews

- Drive the creation of a central KPI dashboard across departments -- surfacing trends, flagging risks, and keeping leadership oriented on what matters

- Own the cadence for business reviews, translating data into clear narratives for the executive team

- Partner with department heads to define the right metrics for their functions and hold them consistently

Financial Modeling & Unit Economics

- Build and maintain detailed cost models that establish a clear picture of product-level margins

- Conduct ad hoc analyses to support leadership decisions -- capacity planning, make-vs-buy, headcount modeling, and more

- Translate messy data into crisp recommendations that drive action

OKR & Operational Cadence

- Partner with the leadership team to design, structure, and facilitate the company-wide OKR process each quarter and annually

- Ensure goals cascade meaningfully from company level to individual teams -- and that review cadences actually happen

- Help design and run the operational rhythms (standups, business reviews, planning cycles) that keep the company aligned as it grows

Strategic Operational Projects

- Act as an internal "chief of staff lite" -- owning high-priority, time-sensitive projects that cut across functions, especially that relate to our product portfolio

- Drive facilities and capital projects (office build-outs, factory expansions, equipment installations), coordinating contractors, timelines, budgets, and stakeholders

- Collaborate with Hardware, Manufacturing, and Quality teams on operational initiatives where a generalist problem-solver creates leverage

What You’ll Bring

- 6-10 years in business operations, strategy, finance, consulting, or a similar generalist role -- ideally with some exposure to a hardware, manufacturing, or deep tech environment

- Strong financial modeling skills -- you can build a cost model from scratch and know how to pressure-test your own assumptions

- Experience designing and facilitating planning processes (OKRs, annual planning, business reviews) at a company of meaningful scale

- Comfortable owning a variety of projects that interface with HW & SW Products -- you've coordinated contractors, managed budgets, and kept complex timelines on track

- A natural dot-connector who builds trust quickly across functions and seniority levels

- High comfort with ambiguity -- you don't need a defined playbook to get started

Nice to Have

- Experience at a startup that scaled through a major production or growth inflection point

- Exposure to manufacturing operations, supply chain, or hardware unit economics

- Familiarity with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar) and comfort building dashboards from scratch

- Prior chief of staff or strategy & ops experience at a growth-stage company

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $175,000 to $200,000. We are open to a variety of seniority levels for this role and will build compensation packages that are commensurate with seniority and skill level. Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots. All Full-Time Employees are eligible for Employee Stock Options. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.
