This role provides technical leadership and strategic direction for multiple engineering teams, driving the implementation of complex software product roadmaps. You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality distributed systems while mentoring junior engineers and fostering best practices across teams. The position requires expertise in backend development, APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and modern engineering frameworks, combined with strong collaboration and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure delivery of scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions. This role emphasizes both technical execution and strategic vision, enabling teams to innovate efficiently while maintaining operational excellence. Ideal candidates are experienced in distributed systems, agile development, and cloud technologies, with a track record of leading multi-team initiatives that deliver measurable impact.

Accountabilities:
• Provide technical leadership and direction for multiple agile teams to implement prioritized software product roadmaps.
• Design, develop, and maintain distributed software systems that are modular, scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
• Lead multiple sprint teams to deliver features, remove impediments, and ensure high-quality solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to estimate effort, prioritize work, and plan roadmap items.
• Mentor and guide engineers across teams, fostering innovation, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence.
• Champion operational excellence, including performance, scalability, observability, and security.
• Utilize analytics and experimentation to improve system performance, reliability, and user experience.

Requirements

 • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in modern technologies and distributed systems.
• 3+ years leading multi-team engineering initiatives and managing complex projects.
• Proficiency in backend development with languages such as Java and Python (FastAPI).
• Strong experience with APIs, microservices, relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MySQL, DynamoDB, S3).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with AI/automation workflow technologies, message queuing, data streaming, and integration frameworks (Kafka, NiFi, SQS, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills across functional teams.
• Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers, driving technical strategy, and promoting best practices.
• Preferred: Knowledge of DevSecOps, AI/automation integration, and experience in highly regulated or technical environments.
