<p>​​Developer Experience (DevX) is responsible for making sure all engineers at Coinbase build high-quality products while being productive and engaged. We do this by providing infrastructure, libraries, frameworks, and tooling to make it easier and faster to build high quality applications. Within DevX, our Onchain Pod is focused on defining the future of developer experience for onchain developers, both within Coinbase and in the broader crypto ecosystem. We believe that the onchain platform is the most important builder platform since the internet (“online”). As a Staff Software Engineer on this team, you’ll be instrumental in designing, building, and executing core solutions that drive our systems.</p><p><strong>What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):</strong><strong> </strong></p><ul><li>Lead the new Onchain Pod and help define its charter, vision, mission, and roadmap.</li><li>Work with stakeholders in Engineering and Security to identify pain points and insecure processes in the onchain development lifecycle.</li><li>Architect and build new tooling to improve onchain development for Coinbase and the broader ecosystem. Augment and maintain existing tooling.</li><li>Drive the evolution of Web3 development toward Web2-level tooling, reliability, and ergonomics - reducing friction and making onchain development more accessible.</li><li>Take ownership of the team's processes and services, ensuring SLA adherence.</li><li>Be a thoughtful technical voice within the team, aiding in diligent architectural decisions and fostering a culture of high-quality code and engineering processes.</li><li>Mentor and collaborate with other members of the team to deliver high quality solutions.</li><li>Champion a “don’t DIY unless necessary” philosophy by leveraging proven industry standards and modern frameworks wherever possible.</li><li>Stay current with emerging trends in the Web3 tooling ecosystem, and integrate best-in-class solutions to accelerate internal development without reinventing the wheel.</li></ul><p><strong>What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):</strong><strong> </strong></p><ul><li>You have 8+ years of software engineering experience.</li><li>You are passionate about enabling onchain development.</li><li>You have extensive experience with smart contract deployments, execution, and management (EVM in particular).</li><li>You have a deep understanding of how popular L1s and L2s work.</li><li>You have an energy and self-drive for continuous learning as crypto is a constantly and rapidly changing space.</li><li>You excel in clear, direct, and kind communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>You have experience building relationships with security, product, and engineering teams.</li><li>You balance long term strategic thinking with short term tactical planning.</li><li>You are familiar with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS), containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.</li><li>You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to haves:</strong></p><ul><li>Prior experience working in a Developer Experience/Productivity, Platform, or similar domain team.</li><li>Have previous experience at a fast paced, high growth stage internet/software company.</li><li>Contributions to open-source crypto projects, such as OP Stack.</li><li>Experience with Golang, Geth, Rust, Reth, Foundry, Solidity, or other crypto tools.</li><li>An interest in blockchain security, red-teaming, and exploit prevention.</li></ul><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Job #: GPBE06US</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">*Answers to crypto-related questions may be used to evaluate your onchain experience.</span></p><p>#LI-Remote</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Pay Transparency Notice:</strong> Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below.
