This role sits at the intersection of advanced medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and clinical innovation, focusing on transforming how cardiovascular disease is detected and understood. You will lead the development of next-generation imaging algorithms that directly support diagnostic and treatment decisions in cardiology. Accountabilities:- Lead the design and development of advanced AI and classical image processing algorithms for cardiac CT and fluoroscopy applications, ensuring clinical relevance and technical excellence.
- Build and optimize robust, low-latency imaging pipelines capable of supporting real-world clinical workflows and high-performance deployment environments.
- Translate clinical, product, and research requirements into precise algorithmic and technical specifications in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate and deploy imaging and AI solutions into production systems used in clinical practice.
- Support regulatory submissions by contributing technical documentation, validation evidence, and algorithmic explainability for medical device approvals.
- Contribute to intellectual property development through patents, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations at scientific forums.
- Mentor junior scientists and foster a culture of rigor, innovation, and continuous technical improvement.
Requirements:
- PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Biomedical Imaging, or related field with 5+ years of postdoctoral or industry experience; or MS with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong background in medical imaging, including classical image processing, deep learning, optical flow, and 2D/3D rigid or deformable registration.
- Proven experience delivering production-grade solutions in medical imaging or healthcare AI environments.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, with experience building scalable and efficient systems.
- Experience with graph-based methods or graph neural networks is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tools such as ITK, OpenCV, VTK, CMake, or Slicer is a plus.
- Experience in cardiac imaging, motion modeling, or tracking is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across technical, clinical, and regulatory teams.
