One of our companies is currently looking for a Staff Product Designer - Design System in the United States.
In this role, you will lead the creation, maintenance, and evolution of a comprehensive design system that serves as the foundation for the company's products across web and mobile platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product designers, engineers, and brand designers, ensuring that design consistency and high-quality standards are upheld. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the design system and influence the overall user experience across the company’s products.
Accountabilities:
- Own the evolution and maintenance of the design system, ensuring its scalability and consistency across all web and mobile platforms.
- Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create and refine design system components, patterns, and guidelines.
- Drive the adoption and implementation of the design system across the organization, ensuring its continuous improvement over time.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the product design team, helping to elevate the overall design quality and practices across the organization.
- Advocate for design excellence by maintaining high standards and fostering a culture of innovation and cohesive user experiences.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in product design, including significant experience in building products and apps, and working with engineering teams.
- 2+ years of experience in building and maintaining design systems.
- Proven ability to work on consumer products in a startup environment, taking ideas from concept to execution across web and mobile platforms.
- Strong technical understanding of designing for various devices and breakpoints, bridging the gap between design and code.
- Expertise in using Figma and other tools for design and documentation (e.g., Notion, Google Suite, Confluence).
- Experience mentoring and coaching design teams, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of leveraging user research and quantitative data to inform design decisions.
