This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Mobile Engineer - Remote in the United States.
This role offers a unique opportunity to define the technical foundation and user experience of a high-performance mobile trading platform. You will lead the development of the mobile application using React Native, driving both the initial MVP launch and the ongoing evolution of the platform. This position combines deep technical expertise with product-focused thinking, giving you end-to-end ownership over mobile architecture, reusable patterns, and feature delivery. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams, mentoring engineers and setting mobile engineering standards across the organization. Success in this role requires balancing long-term architectural strategy with the immediate needs of delivering high-quality features for traders. The environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on technical excellence and user-centered design.
Accountabilities:
· Lead the development of the mobile MVP, building a scalable React Native application integrated with GraphQL APIs.
· Define and maintain mobile architecture patterns, including component design, state management, API integration, and navigation structure.
· Establish engineering best practices for React Native development, including reusable components, TypeScript patterns, hooks, and testing strategies.
· Own end-to-end mobile features, from design through App Store and Play Store releases, ensuring optimal performance and seamless integration with backend services.
· Collaborate with product and design to translate user needs into compelling mobile experiences that balance UX and technical constraints.
· Embed within feature teams after MVP launch to drive ongoing mobile development and mentor engineers on mobile best practices.
· Advocate mobile-first thinking across the organization, guiding backend and frontend teams on platform opportunities and limitations.
Requirements
· 7+ years of professional experience building production mobile applications with demonstrable impact.
· Deep expertise in React Native, including navigation (React Navigation), state management (Redux, Zustand, Context), native module integration, and performance optimization.
· Strong foundation in TypeScript and modern JavaScript, with knowledge of React patterns, hooks, component composition, and functional programming.
· Experience shipping cross-platform mobile apps to iOS and Android, understanding platform-specific differences and capabilities.
· GraphQL client integration experience (Apollo Client or similar), including cache management, optimistic updates, and error handling.
· Mobile performance optimization experience, including bundle size, startup time, memory management, list virtualization, and image optimization.
· Experience with mobile testing frameworks (unit, integration, E2E), crash reporting, analytics integration, and debugging production issues.
· Understanding of mobile CI/CD, automated builds, code signing, TestFlight/Play Store distribution, and release management.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing technical decisions and mentoring team members.
· Preferred: experience in fintech, real-time data integration, complex mobile UI patterns, or native iOS/Android development.
