Why this role exists

Everskies is a live social platform with 200k+ daily active users. It’s weird, creative, expressive — and deeply loved by its community. We’re looking for a full stack engineer to own the product technically end-to-end. That means shipping features fast, keeping the platform stable and performant, and pushing the roadmap forward directly with the CEO and the product’s original creator.

This is a rare opportunity to operate a fully live consumer platform — with zero layers between you and the user, and full ownership of the stack. It’s not a sandbox. It’s real, and it’s yours to drive.

What you’ll do

  • Take full ownership of the codebase and live service

  • Design, build, and deploy new features end-to-end (frontend + backend)

  • Fix bugs, improve performance, and prevent regressions

  • Work directly with the CEO and product lead on roadmap, user feedback, and priorities

  • Maintain and improve the system’s architecture, security, and scalability

  • Keep user experience fast, stable, and safe — even as we grow

What you’ll work with

  • Frontend: Angular (core framework), occasional React or Vanilla JS

  • Backend: PHP (core), Go (select services), Node.js (minor), REST APIs

  • Data: MySQL, MongoDB

  • Messaging: RabbitMQ (event-driven system)

  • General: WSS, FlatBuffers, hosted on AWS (EC2, S3, etc.)

You might be a fit if you...

  • Have 4–8 years of experience shipping full-stack software in production

  • Have worked on high-traffic systems (100k+ DAU) or real-time/live platforms

  • Are fluent in both frontend and backend — with a bias toward backend (this role is ~70% backend)

  • Can read and write PHP and Go, even if not your first languages

  • Ship fast and iterate — MVP-first, no overengineering

  • Have high product intuition and can translate user needs into features

  • Have experience working directly with product/design or founders

This role is not for you if...

  • You need a team, PM, or manager to stay productive

  • You avoid legacy code or unfamiliar languages

  • You don’t care about performance or production ownership

  • You prefer narrow IC roles over broad ownership

What it’s like to work at Pocket Worlds

We don’t do politics. We don’t do layers of management. We’re a team of sharp, hungry builders who care about impact. We ship fast, iterate fast, and own our outcomes. If something’s broken, we fix it. If something needs building, we build it.

We care deeply about the people who use our products — and we don’t hide behind process or silos. If that sounds like you, we’d love to talk.
