This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of complex healthcare technology systems. You will lead the design and architecture of critical software solutions that directly impact patient care and hospital quality reporting. Working across multiple teams, you will ensure system reliability, scalability, and alignment with strategic goals while mentoring engineers and fostering collaboration. You will define technical standards, oversee system-level decisions, and guide teams in delivering high-quality software efficiently. Accountabilities

  • Lead architecture and system design efforts, ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives.
  • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, models, and technical standards to guide teams effectively.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance on system-level decisions, including microservices architecture, integration strategies, and API design.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams and enterprise architects to maintain alignment between technical solutions and organizational strategy.
  • Mentor and coach engineers on architectural principles, system design, and technical decision-making.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
  • Prioritize technical debt and advocate for necessary refactoring or architectural improvements.
  • Ensure systems support continuous delivery and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Communicate technical insights to stakeholders and translate complex concepts into actionable guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in system architecture, software engineering, or similar roles.
  • Proven expertise in full technology stack and architectural best practices.
  • Experience with microservices, API design, integration strategies, and scalable system design.
  • Strong mentoring, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first, mission-driven environment.
  • U.S. citizenship or documented eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation for a position of Public Trust.
