This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant in the United States.
This role sits within a fast-paced, global SaaS environment where accounting operations directly support the scale and reliability of a widely used developer platform. You will play a key role in strengthening core accounting functions, including month-end and quarter-end close, financial reporting, and procure-to-pay processes. Working cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, HR, Tax, and other teams, you will help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. The position offers exposure to both operational and technical accounting work, with opportunities to improve processes and introduce automation into key workflows. You will contribute to enhancing financial transparency and efficiency in a high-growth, remote-first organization. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys combining accounting fundamentals with process innovation. You will also have the opportunity to influence how modern tools, including AI, reshape accounting operations.
Accountabilities- Support the monthly and quarterly close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Finance, IT, Tax, Legal, HR, and Payroll to gather data and support operational and reporting needs.
- Assist in improving financial reporting accuracy, transparency, and compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
- Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and modern tools to improve accounting workflows and close cycle efficiency.
- Support the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Assist with external audit preparation and provide documentation and support during audit cycles and reviews.
- Contribute to ad hoc analysis, process improvement initiatives, and special accounting projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally including a mix of public accounting and industry experience.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience supporting financial reporting and close processes.
- Experience working in a SaaS or similarly fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Familiarity with ERP and financial systems such as NetSuite and other modern accounting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI, automation, or advanced technologies to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Ability to manage deadlines, work independently, and adapt in a dynamic and evolving environment.
