This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Underwriter - REMOTE. In this role, you will provide technical underwriting expertise and guidance on General Liability matters while acting independently as a Technical Expert on casualty lines of business. Your contributions will support the achievement of business plans and product development, ensuring that innovative solutions are implemented effectively. Accountabilities
  • Provide support to the underwriting audit process.
  • Function as referral authority to Associate Underwriters, Underwriters and Senior Underwriters.
  • Support the drafting of policy language and coordinate with Claims and Legal to finalize wording.
  • Attend and participate in IT and Claims Committee meetings.
  • Mentor and participate in training for Associate Underwriters, Underwriters, and Senior Underwriters.
  • Participate in research projects on trends impacting Casualty business.
  • Stay informed on market trends and contribute to new product development.
  • Recommend risk appetite changes and contribute to technical standards.
  • Lead aspects of portfolio management, including profitability analysis.
  • Support underwriting initiatives and lead development of underwriting guidelines.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years commercial underwriting experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years underwriting General Liability business in the E&S sector.
  • Firm technical knowledge of all Casualty lines of coverage.
  • Coursework toward applicable designation(s) preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Proven ability to mentor and train personnel.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Innovative mindset and technical proficiency.
