The Sr. Systems Engineer, ProAV will serve as a technical expert supporting NETGEAR’s ProAV solutions across the Northeast U.S. This role combines customer onboarding, field engineering, pre-sales support, and industry engagement.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in AV-over-IP networking, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to deliver high-impact technical training and solution design.
This is a remote-based position requiring up to 60% travel throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Onboarding & Technical Training
Lead onboarding for U.S. customers implementing NETGEAR ProAV switches and third-party integrations
Collaboration with the Northeast Sales Territory Manager to ensure successful deployments
Deliver remote and on-site training covering:
AV-over-IP network design
Switch profile selection
PTP configuration
Dante, AVB, Milan configuration
API integration and video configuration
Develop customized training materials, system designs, and internal/external knowledge base documentation
Ensure successful transition into production environments, including complex multi-switch and multi-vendor deployments
Professional Services & Field Engineering
Provide advanced on-site troubleshooting for high-profile customers experiencing complex timing, multicast, or interoperability issues
Capture logs, perform packet traces, replicate issues in lab environments, and provide real-time diagnostics
Support commissioning of AV-over-IP systems to ensure stable production performance
Resolve escalated issues involving:

Dante / AES67
NVX
Q-SYS
SMPTE-2059-2
PTPv2
Multicast networking
Pre-Sales Engineering & Business Expansion
Support Sales, Business Development, and Channel teams with technical scoping and solution design
Conduct on-site and virtual product demonstrations
Assist in Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and system architecture design
Provide competitive analysis and technical positioning
Contribute technical expertise to expand NETGEAR’s ProAV presence in the U.S. market
Internal Tool & Documentation Development
Develop and maintain internal scripts, configuration tools, and deployment utilities
Create automation tools to reduce troubleshooting time (log analysis, profile validation, configuration parsing)
Author best practice guides, training materials, and knowledge base documentation
Industry Representation & Events
Represent NETGEAR at U.S. industry conferences and partner events
Deliver technical workshops and presentations
Provide advanced AV-over-IP education and roadmap overviews
Support event-based network deployments and multi-vendor interoperability demonstrations
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in networking systems, AV-over-IP technologies, or related systems engineering roles
Deep knowledge of:
ProAV networking products
AV-over-IP technologies
Multicast networking and IGMP
Switch profile development
NETGEAR API and configuration processes
This expertise is typically gained through:
Strong understanding of routing and switching fundamentals
Hands-on deployment of AVB, Dante, Q-SYS, Crestron, SMPTE-2059-2, and multicast networks
Field experience troubleshooting complex AV-over-IP systems
Independent lab development and advanced technical self-study
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Industry certifications such as CCNA, CWNA, AVIXA CTS, Dante, or AVB are beneficial but not required.
Experience working in a Solutions Architect or Systems Engineering capacity preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be willing to travel up to 60% within the Northeast US region.
