In this role, you will contribute to the evolution of advanced backend and data engineering systems that power cutting-edge analytics products. You will work on scalable, high-performance pipelines that extract, process, and deliver complex datasets relied on by customers for critical decision-making. As a member of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and domain specialists to design efficient algorithms and backend architectures. You will help improve infrastructure, optimize performance, and introduce new capabilities in AI, NLP, and automation. This role offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where innovation, quality, and reliability are central to success.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize backend components for NLP and large-scale data processing pipelines.
  • Work across the full data lifecycle, ensuring performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features, enhance infrastructure, and strengthen developer workflows.
  • Debug and performance-tune complex distributed systems to ensure resilient operation.
  • Support cloud migrations, deployment automation, and continuous integration processes.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and mentor peers within the team.
  • Introduce new ideas in AI, automation, and data engineering to enhance product capabilities.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience developing, maintaining, and debugging backend applications or services.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for backend or data engineering tasks.
  • Experience with Unix or Linux environments, shell scripting, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL, database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Understanding of modern engineering practices including git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to work on complex, large-scale systems.
  • Effective communication skills and comfort working in a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to work with or extend Java-based systems.
  • Background in NLP, information extraction, or text analytics.
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, Kubernetes, or Ansible is a plus.
