This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr Software Engineer II in the United States.

In this role, you will contribute to the evolution of advanced backend and data engineering systems powering large-scale analytics products. You will work across data extraction, processing, storage, and delivery pipelines, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability. As part of a collaborative and cross-functional environment, you will partner with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and domain experts to deliver high-quality backend features and infrastructure. You will also help enhance automation, support cloud migrations, and bring new AI and data engineering ideas into production. This position is ideal for a seasoned engineer eager to solve complex technical problems and impact data-driven products used by professionals worldwide.

Accountabilities:

·        Design, implement, and optimize backend components across NLP and large-scale data processing pipelines.

·        Work across the full data lifecycle, focusing on scalability, performance, maintainability, and reliability.

·        Collaborate with teams to deliver new product features, improve infrastructure, and enhance developer productivity.

·        Conduct debugging, profiling, and performance tuning for complex distributed systems.

·        Support cloud migration initiatives and strengthen automation around build, deployment, and artifact management.

·        Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and provide mentorship to peers.

Requirements

·        5+ years of experience developing, debugging, and maintaining backend applications or services.

·        Strong experience with Python in backend or data engineering contexts.

·        Solid knowledge of Unix/Linux environments, shell scripting, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

·        Proficiency in SQL, database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

·        Familiarity with modern engineering practices including Git, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and code reviews.

·        Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to investigate deep technical issues.

·        Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

·        Ability to work with or extend Java-based systems.

·        Experience in NLP, information extraction, or text analytics.

·        Additional experience with structured and unstructured datasets, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, Ansible, or Kubernetes.
