This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Principal BLOS Communications Electronics Engineer in United States.

This role sits at the forefront of advanced aerospace and defense communications engineering, focused on designing, analyzing, and integrating beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) communication systems for complex airborne military platforms. You will contribute to the development of mission-critical communication subsystems that ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance connectivity across multiple environments. Working in a highly technical and mission-driven setting, you will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to translate system requirements into robust hardware and software solutions. The position involves deep technical analysis, system performance evaluation, and integration support across the full development lifecycle. You will also engage directly with customers and suppliers, influencing design decisions and ensuring alignment with mission objectives. This is a high-impact engineering role where your work directly contributes to national defense capabilities and next-generation aerospace systems. It requires strong analytical expertise, systems thinking, and the ability to operate in a secure, fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the development, integration, and validation of BLOS communications subsystems for airborne military platforms, ensuring alignment with mission and system requirements.
  • Translate customer and system-level requirements into detailed hardware and software specifications.
  • Perform communications system performance analysis, including link margin, antenna patterns, and RF component evaluations.
  • Conduct technical trade studies, risk assessments, and develop mitigation strategies for complex engineering challenges.
  • Support supplier and subcontractor management, including documentation review, technical evaluations, and interface coordination.
  • Participate in system integration, testing, qualification, and acceptance activities across multiple development phases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and external partners to ensure technical alignment and successful execution.
  • Contribute to technical reviews, design discussions, and system architecture decisions for advanced communications solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in engineering or related fields.
  • Active or ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret clearance.
  • Strong experience in airborne military communications systems, including LOS and BLOS technologies (VLF, HF, VHF, UHF, Ku).
  • Proven expertise in RF systems, antenna design, waveform performance, and communication link analysis.
  • Experience in supplier management, technical documentation, and systems engineering processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in performance modeling and system evaluation.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering tools (e.g., Cameo/SysML) and analytical tools such as MATLAB and Excel is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across technical teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, systems thinking, and ability to manage complex technical environments.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range from $122,800 to $184,200 depending on experience and qualifications
  • Eligibility for annual bonuses and performance-based incentives
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage
  • Paid time off, holidays, and flexible vacation benefits
  • Retirement savings plan with employer contributions
  • Relocation assistance may be available depending on eligibility
  • Exposure to advanced aerospace and defense technologies
  • Career development opportunities in a highly specialized engineering environment
  • Secure, mission-driven work contributing to national defense programs
  • Structured 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off.
