This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. IT Program Manager based in the United States.
The Sr. IT Program Manager will lead high-impact technology programs that support critical business initiatives and digital transformation.
This role oversees multiple interconnected projects and workstreams, ensuring strategy, requirements, execution, and delivery remain aligned from concept through launch.
You will partner closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and senior leadership to translate business needs into effective technology solutions.
The position combines program leadership, product and project management, Agile delivery, stakeholder engagement, and technical solution oversight.
You will bring strong business acumen and technical expertise to manage complex initiatives involving customer experiences, enterprise applications, and digital platforms.
Success will require the ability to influence without direct authority, proactively resolve challenges, communicate a clear vision, and keep teams focused on measurable outcomes.
This is a fully remote U.S. opportunity with limited travel and the chance to contribute to technology initiatives with broad organizational impact.
Accountabilities:- Lead groups of interconnected projects and programs organized around common strategic and organizational goals.
- Manage complex programs and portfolios comprising multiple workstreams, coordinating priorities, resources, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
- Integrate related projects and project managers while providing leadership, guidance, support, and mentoring to project managers, program managers, and business systems analysts.
- Establish, maintain, and improve project and program management templates, tools, processes, and delivery standards.
- Partner with business and customer stakeholders to understand business needs, identify opportunities, and recommend effective technology solutions.
- Work with stakeholders to define product objectives, business requirements, scope, priorities, and delivery expectations.
- Coordinate resources across multiple workstreams to ensure projects remain appropriately staffed and aligned with program objectives.
- Participate in or serve as a Product Owner within Agile/Scrum environments, including writing user stories, grooming backlogs, and leading sprint planning.
- Manage product and solution releases through established release processes, ensuring readiness, quality, and alignment with business expectations.
- Develop and maintain core program deliverables, including implementation plans, budgets and variance tracking, issue and action logs, meeting documentation, risk assessments, and contingency plans.
- Maintain consistent and effective communication with leadership, stakeholders, project teams, and business partners regarding progress, priorities, risks, and decisions.
- Maintain accountability for on-time delivery, product quality, cost management, and operational readiness.
- Lead vendor selection activities, including RFPs and pricing evaluations, and manage vendor performance against statements of work, deliverables, change requests, and approvals.
- Develop and maintain vendor and partner scorecards to monitor performance, delivery quality, and accountability.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure solutions are delivered on schedule and meet required quality standards.
- Ensure business systems, IT systems, and partner platforms are properly implemented and that technical designs accurately reflect documented business requirements.
- Proactively identify challenges, risks, and dependencies and drive timely resolution across teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 6–10 years of IT experience.
- 16+ years of program and project management experience.
- Extensive experience leading complex technology programs involving multiple projects, teams, and stakeholders.
- Strong technical, functional, and product expertise, with experience delivering enterprise solutions and managing customer journeys or user experience initiatives.
- Experience with CRM, eCommerce, loyalty platforms, back-office solutions, or comparable enterprise technology environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery practices, including backlog management, user stories, sprint planning, and product ownership.
- Proven ability to clearly define program scope, establish realistic goals and timelines, and maintain alignment throughout the program lifecycle.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and manage effectively without direct authority.
- Ability to communicate strategic vision and the broader program objectives consistently across technical and business teams.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges, risks, dependencies, and delivery obstacles.
- Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, delegation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to advocate for simplicity, practical solutions, and sound decision-making while navigating complex environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Scrum Master certification is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively through spoken and written communication and work with detailed information across verbal, written, and electronic formats.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to travel 10% or less.
