This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Information Systems Security Engineer in United States.

This role plays a critical part in securing advanced space and ground systems that support complex mission environments. The position focuses on designing, implementing, and validating robust cybersecurity architectures that meet stringent U.S. government and industry standards. You will operate across multiple programs, ensuring that security requirements are embedded throughout the system lifecycle, from design to deployment and continuous monitoring. The environment is highly technical and mission-driven, requiring strong collaboration with engineering, architecture, and compliance teams. You will also contribute directly to risk management, accreditation efforts, and security governance processes that enable system authorization and operational readiness. This is a high-impact role for a security expert who thrives in complex, regulated environments and wants to influence the resilience of critical space technologies.

Accountabilities:
  • Perform end-to-end security assessments for space and ground systems, including architecture review, control implementation, and risk mitigation planning
  • Develop and maintain system security plans, policies, procedures, and compliance documentation aligned with NIST standards and industry frameworks
  • Derive, allocate, and validate security requirements across hardware, software, network, and cloud system components
  • Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes, including creation of POA&Ms and accreditation documentation
  • Participate in design reviews, technical working groups, and customer security reviews to ensure compliance with security requirements
  • Lead vulnerability management activities, including tracking, remediation, validation, and closure
  • Support system hardening validation using DISA STIGs and CIS benchmarks
  • Conduct risk assessments in alignment with NIST risk frameworks (NIST 800-30, 800-37)
  • Contribute to system architecture design including identity and access management, network security, and application security
  • Support trade studies and engineering decisions to ensure secure and cost-effective system solutions

Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship with eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information systems security, space systems, or related technical security domains
  • Strong experience designing and implementing secure systems, networks, and infrastructure
  • Deep knowledge of NIST cybersecurity frameworks including NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, and CMMC requirements
  • Experience performing risk management activities aligned with NIST 800-30 and NIST 800-37
  • Hands-on experience implementing security controls in government, commercial, or international programs
  • Strong understanding of system security engineering principles across complex environments
  • Experience participating in compliance, accreditation, and authorization processes for federal systems is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with security tools such as vulnerability scanners, network analysis tools, and SIEM platforms is a plus
  • Cloud security experience with AWS or Azure and relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, AWS/Azure security certifications) is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams

Benefits:

  • Competitive annual base salary ranging approximately from 124,000 USD to 238,000 USD depending on location and experience
  • Performance-based incentive compensation eligibility
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Opportunity to work on advanced space and mission-critical technologies
  • Exposure to highly technical, national security–aligned programs
  • Inclusive and equal opportunity workplace culture
  • Potential for professional certifications and continued technical development support.
