This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Director of Enterprise Risk Programs and Intelligence based in the United States.

This senior leadership role is responsible for advancing enterprise risk management capabilities within a complex financial technology environment.
The position will shape risk strategies, analytics, and reporting frameworks that enable informed decision-making at the executive and board levels.
You will lead the development of enterprise-wide risk programs, including risk indicators, scenario analysis, third-party risk oversight, and emerging risk identification.
Working closely with cross-functional leaders, you will transform complex risk data into actionable insights that strengthen organizational resilience.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the design, enhancement, and integration of enterprise risk management programs, including risk appetite frameworks, risk taxonomies, key risk indicators, key control indicators, and risk monitoring processes.
  • Develop and oversee enterprise risk reporting, dashboards, and analytics capabilities, ensuring executives and board members receive clear, timely, and actionable insights.
  • Build methodologies for risk aggregation across multiple domains, integrating risk assessments, scenario analysis, control evaluations, and business insights to create a holistic enterprise risk view.
  • Lead enterprise scenario analysis initiatives to evaluate potential risk exposures, identify emerging threats, and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Oversee third- and fourth-party risk management programs, including vendor risk monitoring, concentration risk analysis, reporting, and governance processes.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and business leaders to integrate strategic, financial, and people-related risks into the broader enterprise risk profile.
  • Establish and manage emerging risk programs by evaluating external trends, internal signals, and evolving industry challenges to support proactive decision-making.
  • Develop risk education, awareness, and training initiatives that strengthen risk culture and promote collaboration across business functions.
  • Build and lead a high-performing risk team while serving as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and supporting continuous improvement of enterprise risk practices.
  • Collaborate across all lines of defense to enhance governance, controls, and risk-informed business decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; advanced degree such as an MBA, MS, or equivalent preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, financial risk, or related risk disciplines.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience managing enterprise risk programs, analytics functions, or similar strategic risk initiatives.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise risk management frameworks, risk analytics, dashboards, key risk indicators, and executive-level reporting.
  • Significant experience within the mortgage, financial services, capital markets, or related regulated industries strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing or partnering with third-party risk management programs.
  • Proven ability to conduct enterprise scenario analysis, emerging risk assessments, and forward-looking risk evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of financial services risk practices, regulatory expectations, and governance requirements.
  • Experience translating regulatory and legal requirements into practical processes, controls, and operational workflows.
  • Ability to communicate complex risk topics clearly with executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, judgment, and ability to influence across multiple functions and reporting lines.
  • Experience managing SOC 1 and SOC 2 reviews, committee governance, or similar oversight activities is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or Certified Third Party Risk Professional (CTPRP) are preferred but not required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
