One of our companies is currently looking for a Sr Accounting Analyst in Virginia.

As a Sr Accounting Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the monthly and quarterly accounting close process. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of accounting functions for assigned locations or business units. This includes working closely with leadership and departmental staff to deliver timely reporting, analyze financial results, and address anomalies in pricing, cost of goods sold, and other financial areas. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and excellent communication skills.

Accountabilities:

  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial reporting for assigned business units and locations.
  • Analyze financial results, reviewing margin trends and identifying any discrepancies in pricing, costs, and rebates.
  • Work closely with financial operations teams to adjust erroneous financial data, ensuring accurate receivables or liabilities.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to ensure financial reporting meets their needs and expectations.
  • Oversee the accuracy and completeness of expense accounting for assigned areas, including customer incentives, supplier funding, and distribution expenses.
  • Provide variance analysis for administrative expenses against budget, prior year, and expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • At least two years of relevant public or corporate accounting experience.
  • Strong technical accounting background, including proficiency in GAAP.
  • Experience with Oracle Hyperion and MS Office Suite is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.
