About the Role
As a Solutions Consultant, you will work with the Sales Director on all phases of the sales cycle. You will build relationships with prospects, customers and partners to understand their needs and become a trusted advisor to help them understand and appreciate the value of headlessCMS solutions and, of course, ButterCMS.
This is a newly defined role providing the right candidate the opportunity to make it their own and have direct impact to Butter’s growth strategy. This role will be highly visible and influential on our go to market and product strategy.
Keys to success in this role will be an entrepreneurial spirit and resourcefulness. You will have a passion to become an industry expert in the CMS space, enjoy presenting solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences and have aptitude in creative problem solving working with prospects, customers as well as partners.
Key Responsibilities
70%: Pre-Sales through Onboarding Support
Serve as SME on the ButterCMS platform
Gain deep understanding of key buyer/user personas: developers (implementers of Butter) and marketers (the end user).
Co-pilot sales opportunities with the Sales Director that includes: technical discovery, product presentations, customized demos, collaborative solution design sessions, interactive trials, and proofs of concepts
Provide product training, migration and onboarding support and ensure a smooth hand off to the Client Success team
Engage partners and evangelize the ButterCMS solution, support them in sales pursuits
Expand and improve our product sales and marketing materials including demos, product videos, best practices guides, knowledge base articles, competitive SWOTs working with Marketing, CS and Product counterparts
Support the creation and execution of outbound lead generation campaigns led by Sales and Marketing
Continually gather market and competitive insights and provide that feedback to Product Management and Marketing
Represent Butter at industry events/tradeshows, webinars etc
15%: Community Manager/Developer Relations
Monitor developer communities (ie: Reddit) and customer forums (planned), proactively represent ButterCMS in those forums and synthesize sentiment to bring back to the teamÂ
15%: Technical SupportÂ
Assist current customers with technical product questions and offer up best practices guidance
Serve as buffer and conduit to the development team
Key Skills and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience in the industry.
The ability to communicate technical information in an engaging way to non technical and technical audiences alike, in both presentation and written formats.
The desire to work in a fast-paced environment, across multiple opportunities and teams
3-5 years of sales engineering experience, selling cloud solutions to Marketing, IT, and Development Audiences.
Deep understanding of the Digital Marketing and Content functions within businesses paired with the ability to speak to pain points solved by, and the unique value propositions of the ButterCMS product.
Strong presentation skills that demonstrate the ability to clearly and empathetically convey business and technical experience to our varying personas that are both marketing-focused and technical-focused.
A high degree of emotional intelligence to help navigate meetings with multiple customer stakeholders with varying degrees of engagement and influence.
Intellectual curiosity for how technology drives change and how that transfers into business value.
In East or Central US time zone or ability to work those hours.
Nice to Have
1-3 years designing and delivering digital experiences and/or frontend development (with React, node, NextJS, etc.)
Experience working with a Content Management Platform or similar technology (MarTech).
Prior experience with solution selling methodologies and/or value-based selling techniques.
Understanding the core concepts of headless and composable architectures and how they relate to Butter’s product and market position.
