About Tessera Labs
Tessera Labs is redefining how enterprises modernize and operate their core systems using AI-enabled automation. Backed by Foundation Capital and built by leaders from top technology and research institutions, Tessera delivers governed, production-grade AI products that automate workflows across ERP and SaaS platforms including SAP, Salesforce, Workday, Snowflake, MuleSoft, Oracle, and other mission-critical systems.
Our mission is to compress years of enterprise transformation into weeks—safely, governably, and with measurable outcomes. We operate with extreme ownership, move quickly, and build at the frontier of applied automation for regulated, large-scale enterprise environments.
Role Summary
The Solutions Architect sits between Delivery and Engineering, serving as the architectural bridge where customer ERP and SaaS architectures meet Tessera’s AI platform. They understand the customer environment, constraints, and workflows, and work closely with Engineering teams to translate these requirements into implementable Tessera AI product features.
This role partners with Senior Forward-Deployed Engineering Leads (Senior FDEs), Systems Engineers, and TPMs to ensure solution designs are scalable, governable, and aligned with the platform, while maintaining architectural integrity across ERP, SaaS, data, integration, and automation layers.
The Solutions Architect is a member of the Architecture team, led by the VP of Architecture & Delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze customer ERP and SaaS landscapes, including SAP, Salesforce, and adjacent enterprise systems.
Translate customer constraints—legacy customizations, regulatory requirements, data fragmentation, and operational risk—into clear solution architectures.
Define target-state and transition architectures that integrate Tessera AI products into existing enterprise environments.
Map customer systems, data flows, and workflows into Tessera’s product and platform capabilities.
Provide architectural direction and guardrails to Senior FDEs and Systems Engineers during delivery.
Review and validate solution designs, integrations, and data flows to ensure architectural integrity.
Act as the architectural escalation point for cross-system, cross-domain, or high-risk design decisions.
Support customer architecture workshops, technical deep dives, and executive design reviews.
Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, auditability, reliability, and scalability.
Contribute to internal reference architectures, solution patterns, and architectural best practices.
Collaboration & Operating Model
Works in close partnership with Senior FDEs, who own hands-on execution and technical delivery.
Supports TPMs, who own delivery planning, sequencing, and outcomes.
Collaborates with Systems Engineers on platform-specific and integration-heavy designs.
Interfaces with Product and Platform Engineering to ensure customer solutions align with platform capabilities and roadmap.
Escalates architectural risks and design tradeoffs through the Architecture team and VP of Architecture & Delivery.
Technical Skills & Experience
Strong architectural understanding of ERP and SaaS platforms such as SAP (ECC/S/4HANA), Salesforce, Workday, and similar systems.
Experience designing enterprise integrations using APIs, events, middleware, ETL, and data pipelines.
Solid grasp of data harmonization, schema mapping, and cross-system consistency.
Familiarity with AI-enabled automation concepts and how they integrate into enterprise workflows.
Experience designing solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or SAP BTP).
Awareness of observability, logging, monitoring, and secure deployment practices.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: 7+ years in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or senior technical leadership roles, with experience in ERP and SaaS modernization programs, ideally in regulated or audit-heavy enterprise environments.
Technical Expertise: Proven ability to analyze complex enterprise landscapes and translate customer architecture into implementable AI platform solutions. Hands-on familiarity with ERP systems (SAP ECC/S/4HANA), SaaS platforms (Salesforce, Workday), integration patterns (APIs, events, ETL/ELT, middleware), and exposure to AI-enabled automation or intelligent workflow systems.
Certifications: Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or progress toward CTA; SAP Certified Technology Specialist or equivalent; other relevant ERP/SaaS architecture certifications.
Product & Platform Experience: Prior experience in product-led or platform-centric organizations, understanding how enterprise requirements map into product capabilities.
Collaboration: Demonstrated experience working closely with delivery teams (Senior FDEs, TPMs) and engineering organizations to ensure solution feasibility, product alignment, and execution integrity.
Communication: Strong technical communication skills, capable of conveying architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and design considerations to both technical and executive audiences.
Adaptability: Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving enterprise environments with incomplete information.
Travel: Willingness to travel to customer sites in the U.S. as needed.
Behavioral Expectations
Strong ownership mindset and accountability for architectural outcomes.
Pragmatic, structured problem-solving under incomplete information.
Ability to balance enterprise rigor with startup execution speed.
Clear, concise communication and documentation.
Effective collaboration across Architecture, Delivery, and Engineering teams.
