Flock Safety is transforming public safety and security by equipping law enforcement agencies and commercial organizations with AI-driven technology to prevent and solve crime.We’re seeking a Solution Deployment Engineer to join our high-performing presales deployment team. In this role, you’ll be on the front lines of customer deployments — solving complex technical problems, ensuring seamless implementations, and setting the standard for quality and expertise in the field.
You’ll own customer engagements end-to-end, working closely with Sales, Product, Operations, and Customer Success to design and deliver technical deployment solutions that directly support our mission and customer priorities. Create and execute technical solution design and deployments for key customer engagements across the U.S.
Serve as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring deployments align with customer needs and product capabilities.
Manage the deployment strategy from pre-sales to implementation for assigned territories
Participate in discovery sessions to identify key customer requirements, success metrics, and process gaps.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges in real time.
Contribute to team knowledge by documenting best practices and sharing lessons learned.
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Operations, and Customer Experience to support customer goals and deployments
Maintain deep technical knowledge of Flock Safety’s products and competitive solutions.
Serve as a product subject matter expert in gunshot detection systems, license plate readers, live video cameras and future product releases, providing technical guidance and strategic recommendations to customers and internal teams.
Provide feedback to Product teams to improve internal processes, tools, and deployment methodologies.
Ensure smooth implementation by problem solving to find alternative solutions, navigating permitting or technical obstacles, and ensuring successful deployment of Flock Safety products.
2+ years of experience in technology presales, solution engineering, deployment engineering (or equivalent) or criminal justice. Experience in crime prevention or crime mapping is a plus.
Proven track record of hands-on technical delivery in customer-facing roles.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities.
Consultative by nature — you enjoy solving problems and building customer-focused solutions.

Complete assigned onboarding with SDE mentors for the first 6 weeks
Understand company products and SDE team workflows
Attend customer meetings; review deployment plans under supervision and attend other enablement sessions
Become familiar with deployment plans, specifically in your assigned pipeline, including customer meetings
60 Days
Complete training on relocation requests review process
Completing deployment reviews independently
Manage complex projects/situations (escalating exceptions), and work closely with a Field Ops agent to provide quality control
Completing an average of 50 cameras reviewed per week
Own relocation request reviews for assigned states
Complete a ride along with field tech to view the installation process and how Field Ops works (can be completed any time during training)
90 Days
Increase output of deployment plan reviews to average 90 per week
Complete an average of 5 relocation requests per week
In this role, you’ll receive a salary up to $70,000 - $94,000 as well as Flock Safety Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.
