Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and driven Software Engineering Manager to lead and inspire our Mortgage engineering team. This is not a “keep the lights on” role—we need a leader who will work with product and engineering leaders to drive meaningful change, explore new technologies, and motivate the team to achieve excellence. Your leadership will help create innovative solutions while fostering a culture of growth, curiosity, and collaboration. 


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to identify opportunities for meaningful innovation and implement impactful changes. 
  • Motivate and inspire the team to achieve goals, both technical and strategic, ensuring alignment with company objectives. 
  • Drive the exploration and adoption of new technologies to enhance team capabilities and improve systems. 
  • Mentor and grow individual team members, fostering their professional development and technical expertise. 
  • Act as a proactive leader by identifying and addressing challenges before they become blockers. 
  • Oversee technical implementations and ensure adherence to best practices in software development. 


Required Skills
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management position.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, with a focus on mentoring and developing team members.
  • A natural curiosity and willingness to explore innovative solutions.
  • Technical expertise in AWS Lambda, Node.js/TypeScript, and C#. 


Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Encompass APIs.
  • Previous experience working in the Mortgage industry.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Knowledge of Serverless Stack Toolkit (SST) and GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency with front‐end technologies like React.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as DataDog.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and its integrations.

$164,000 - $204,000 a year
This role may be eligible for a bonus and equity.
