Software Engineer, UI

POSITION SUMMARYAs a Software Engineer, UI you will design, develop, and maintain modern web applications with a focus on creating exceptional user experiences and services to support Natera Operations information processing for genetic lab tests. You have strong expertise in frontend development and a passion for crafting intuitive, accessible, and performant user interfaces. You will work with operational teams to transform complex data sets into clear, meaningful visualizations and reports, using React and modern frontend tools. Together with the talented Engineering Team, Product Managers, and Designers, you will work on new and exciting experiences for our customers.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Work closely with designers and product teams to implement pixel-perfect, responsive user interfaces</li><li>Work with an engineering team to make key design and technical implementation decisions</li><li>Build reusable component libraries and maintain frontend architecture</li><li>Optimize application performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility</li><li>Implement robust client-side data management and state handling</li><li>Perform code reviews and mentor the development team on frontend best practices</li><li>Collaborate with backend engineers to design and consume APIs effectively</li><li>Champion web accessibility standards and best practices</li><li>Participate in UX discussions and provide technical feasibility insights</li><li>Be a contributing team member to the end-to-end execution of compliance initiatives</li><li>This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and has access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job</li><li>Must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire</li><li>Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>4+ years of frontend development experience, with a focus on building secure, scalable web applications</li><li>The following technologies are specifically desirable:</li><li>Strong experience with React and its ecosystem</li><li>Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript</li><li>Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and modern CSS frameworks</li><li>Experience with frontend testing frameworks and methodologies</li><li>Experience with frontend build tools and module bundlers</li><li>Experience working with common UI Component libraries</li><li>Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques</li><li>Experience with frontend architecture and design systems</li><li>Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable code</li><li>Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills</li><li>Healthcare IT experience is beneficial, but not required</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES<ul><li>UI web application programming</li><li>JavaScript</li><li>REST and/or GraphQL APIs and other Web service frontend technologies</li><li>AWS infrastructure</li><li>Docker or container-oriented technologies</li><li>CI / CD</li><li>Quality Assurance Mindset; Nice to have: familiarity with regulated environments</li></ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description">The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
